Side Effects Damaging Kidneys and Liver
I have been on Meloxicam, Methotrexate, Sulfasalazine, and most recently Leflunomide, as well as
Prednisone
. None of the meds put me into remission. At best I had a 70% reduction in symptoms. I was taken off Methotrexate and Sulfasalazine due to side effects.

My GCA Update
She put me on 60 mg.
prednisone
and submitted a request for approval of Actrema from my insurance. I’m not happy that I have it, but it does feel like a relief to know what is causing me to feel so poorly.

Another update on potential meds intolerance
I have been prescribed by two of my endos hydrocortisone and even
prednisone
for a couple of months as my ACTH is also low in range. Interestingly aldosterone is double the range! Normally should be low alonside low cort, so I wasn't prescribed Florinef for low aldo.

flying by the seat of my pants
I have been on a roller coaster for the past several months going up and down increasing
prednisone
based upon my feelings in my heard, same location each time. The Rhumy is no help tells me to just keep upping my
prednisone
until I fell better then reduce. It’s not working!!!

Classification Criteria vs. Diagnosis Criteria
At the foot of the Responses tab, Dr Patricia A Forbes MD Chb describes her own experience of PMR despite not testing positive for CRP or ESR: "I had a classical case which responded to
prednisone
. I had a shorter recurrence several months later.

Azathioprine dose
Obviously when this all started I stopped taking the Azathioprine (so my immune system could fight) and doubled my
prednisone
dose from 10mg daily to 20mg. This is supposed to be a short term solution but has been going on for sometime now.

Achille, fingers and now eye Inflammation need hope it will stop.
I got 5 day only of
prednisone
for my achille tendonitis. It's was the best days of my last two years. But as soon as it stop the pain and stiffness come back and now, it's affecting the eyes also. I have cortisone eye drop for at least a month. Just to get a little bit of hope.

Now down to 1/2 mg Pred. Feeling good.
Seem to have lost the need for
prednisone
. Still on Methotrexate 12.5 weekly and daily hydroxychloroquine. My glucose levels are back to what they were before PMR. Question is can I reduce Meth? At some point likely won't need any. At 12.5mg , I don't notice any side effects.

Papules on Face and Forehead
My treatment was Azathioprine,
Prednisone
and Rituxan. I went through about 4 months of pain and suffering before I was DX as doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me.

Ant-inflammatory
I wanted him to treat cirrhosis with
prednisone
but said it was not severe enough yet. I wan’t comfortable that but I thought of a solution which appears to be working, so I wanted to share it. My bloodwork showed a lot of inflammation and I was getting UTIs.

painful thighs and buttocks
Tapered off
prednisone
too fast (now I know) in 14 months; and it came back one month later after my second COVID (Moderna) vaccine. Just shoulders and arms, but made them very painful and useless.

Does Prednisolone cause anxiety, panic and depression?
Since then I have been on
prednisone
for 8 months, high dose 25 mg to start with now reduced considerably to 5mg. I also take a range of other medications like Hydroxychloroquine, Myfenax, Lansoproazole and Losartan potassium.
