A couple of days ago I asked if anyone had experienced any positive benefits from having RAI treatment for overactive thyroid and there were no replies. Can this be true.....😳

Your thoughts.......part 2
The responses to part 1 were incredible and extremely helpful in enabling me to better understand the potential risks of having RAI treatment for hyperthyroidism. As some of you may know, I am actively involved with the AF Association forum which is significantly smaller than this one. However, like

Has anyone successfully treated an iodine deficiency please?
Hi I've been taking a drop of iodine as advised, for 6 months to correct an iodine deficiency (38). Just previous to that my FT4 was 16 and tsh 3.6ish, so I was considered borderline underactive thyroid. My iodine level has only raised to 41, so have managed to find a liquid that has different ingredients

Your thoughts please......
I know this is likely to be a question which is normally asked after other important issues have been considered, but at the moment, your thoughts would be welcome. I’m 73 and have AF, controlled by ablation and Flecainide as and when required. Since the late nineties, my TSH has hovered between 0.01

Pain relief
Hi guys! Im after some advise and guidance on pain relief, I have extreme pains including severe sciatica with my endometriosis. I tried a TENS machine but this made things worse and heat therapy is becoming less and less effective unless I'm burning my skin (more of a distraction from the pain). In

Pain relief for liver disease sufferer's.
Hi All, After reading recent posts on pain relief, it seems we are all being given different advice on suitable medications that are liver friendly. I was recently prescribed codeine, only to find on the pamphlet it says not to be taken if you have chronic liver disease.I stopped them immediately. I

7.5mg might not be enough
It's almost 4 weeks since I dropped to 7.5 x 7 from 7.5 x 4. I posted a few weeks back about aches and pains and can't find the post. I am more and more thinking my pains are PMR. Yesterday and today I am not keeping on top of it and over last 10 days have taken the last of my codeine stash x once per

Does anyone know of a Certified Gluten, Dairy, Yeast, Soya and IODINE FREE multivitamin available without breaking the bank please? 🤔😊
I am looking for a multivitamin (not necessarily mineral as well) without all the above, but can't seem to find one. I don't want to have to buy loads of individual supplements as I already pay out enough due to self medicating. I would gratefully appreciate any help on this. I have purchased several

Help please 40mg carbimazole
My consultant has put me on 40mg carbimazole 2 weeks ago, last week my gp prescribed propanalol 3 times a day, it made me feel a little better, but now I feel dreadful Work stress is through the roof, is this why I’m so ill? Or is it coincidence? Should I have time off? Not sure what to do to help myself

MCH has gone over-range again, but ferritin low at 28, any advice appreciated please?
Hi, written this post twice but seems I did it on the thyroid site, so third time lucky. Issues for both and know they're a very wise bunch too, so no worries! A recent test has shown MCH has risen again to 32,5 (27-32) and ferritin dropped to 28 (23-300). I was confused as to why as thought the low

Hi, any advice please?monthly b12 inj. But MCH bit overange, yet ferritin low at 28?
Hi, Wondering if anyone can help, please? I'm confused as to why a low ferritin result doesn't bring down MCH which is just over range again at 32.5 (27-32). Do you think it means I still need more b12? I have a functional b12 def (have monthly inj) I'm also trying to treat an iodine def (have taken

Constant pain & blood results
So I’ve spent the past 4 years in constant pain with my right hip and have been on codeine 30mg/500mg for the same amount of time. I recently had a labs worth of blood tests done, with the doctor’s receptionist coming back to me with ‘vitamin D deficiency’ and a years prescription of 20,000 ui Vit

Dairy-heavy diet linked to prostate cancer risk... Continued
Came across this Australian review of the study [1]. Extract: "Perhaps the review’s most surprising omission is mention of the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) Continuous Update Project report on prostate cancer. This rigorous global analysis of the scientific literature identified much stronger risk

Codeine dreams
Hello everyone, I'm currently taking 2 x 15mg of codeine before I go to bed for the pain and also to help me sleep. I find that I get really vivid dreams whenever I take codeine, they are not nightmares but pretty trippy and super disorientating when I wake up. Does anyone else have the same thing
