Need surgery
Hi I'm not new here but I thought I'd take a shot in the dark and explain the predicament that I am in. I have a prolapsed stoma which is 4 inches long and 55mm in diameter I've also herniated my bowel with it being 10cm in length. I also have 1 metre of small bowel left so not really much at all when

Wits end
I need some advice please. I am currently on 300mg of pregabalin and one codeine tablet a day but this has stopped working. I struggle to get to sleep and when I do I am woken after 1 - 2 hours with restless legs and sometimes arms. I am at my wits end with exhaustion. I had a full blood count recently

Living Hell
I first experienced RLS about 1982. I had no idea what was wrong with me so I just put it down to some sort of allergy. As the attacks were quite intermittent, I didn't seek any help at the time. After about a year though. The frequency and severity of the attacks increased manyfold and was now causing

To Thyroidectomy or Not to Thyroidectomy
Hi there! Hoping for some guidance, advice and possibly real life results from some members. I was diagnosed with Graves' Disease this time last year. I had every possible symptom you can imagine. I started on Methimazole almost immediately. My numbers have gotten better but are still not controlled.

Codeine phosphate run out
I been taking codeine for years as I have one of worst scoliosis but the person I buy them from normally isn't available for 2 weeks doctors are just totally unhelpful and even though they told me not to stop straight away as it could be dangerous for me when I tell them I've ran out and getting withdrawals

Reliance on Codeine
Following CABG five weeks ago I still have a lot of pain in my left leg where the vein was removed. I manage this through 2 paracetamol 4 times a day and 1 codeine tablet twice a day, having just reduced from 2 codeine tablets twice a day. This keeps me just on top of the pain. I'm wondering how

Inflammation and RLS redux
I've both queried and written about the possible roles that inflammation plays in RLS, but wanted to share what I recently learned, which again indicates that the relationship between the two is complicated. I was recently on methyl prednisone for a few days to calm down post-surgery inflammation

Hi, I have been taking codeine for my foot pain for nearly 4 years, my accident was 4 years ago this Monday, I scolded my foot and had to have my toes amputated last February 2023. The doctors want me to stop taking codeine but I am waiting to see the pain clinic, I have been on their waiting list since

Salbutamol Inhaler not used as a reliever anymore?
Hi Yesterday I had my yearly Asthma review with the nurse from our surgery which quite frankly was a waste of my time. However what did concern me was that she tried to take away my Salbutamol Inhaler (actually there & then) telling me they do not recommend them any more as a reliever & that I am

Back/pelvis/hip pain?
A month or 2 ago, I got a new dog, he's bigger than my previous dog and he pulls on the lead. And I got stressed adapting to the change. Somewhere soon after that I picked up a bug, and the PMR "buzzing" in my shoulders, arms and calves popped back. Not really painful but aware of "the bucket" I stopped
