Flu shot
Anyone have any thoughts on flu shots? My thyroid symptoms continue as I work my way through the process of the T4/t3 combination. Are flu shots recommended?

Is it ok to have a flu jab close to a steroid one?
This coming Tuesday, I am having a steroid injection in my knee at the hospital. They seem to be making a bit of a fuss about it this time as I have to be admitted like I am in for an operation when before I just had the injection, went home and that was it. Anyway, my question is that on Saturday, I

Flu jab
Hi All. I am new to this group having just been diagnosed with RA earlier this year. My question is whether it is ok to have a flu jab while taking methotrexate and folic acid? I have had one in previous years before my diagnosis with no reaction. Thanks.

Dumb question of the day
I know I should know this but just to confirm getting the flu jab is not a problem for those with PMR is it? I do sometimes wonder what kicked off my PMR and all I can think of is having the flu jab a few weeks before hand....what do you think? Thanks.

New oncologist
I apologize this is long, but I need some help. My oncologist resigned in May without warning. I have seen his PA for the past 3 months. I'm not exceptionally fond of her (she's judgmental and gives me the impression she is nosy. This is her 2nd career, she was a journalist before), but I understood

Flu jab
Hi All, Having read all the responses to my original post, I did some research on the Over 65 vaccine. I was unaware it contains Shingrex, which is certainly an issue for me as I have Post Herpitic Neuralgia , (permanent nerve damage) from a bout of Shingles. I will be speaking with my pharmacist and

Flu vaccine?
Hi All, my pharmacist has recommended I have a flu jab this winter (he is starting to do them next week). He's offering it because I'm 65 and eligible for it free on the NHS. I don't have any respiratory or heart problems but it does take me a long time to recover from viruses that most people shrug

2019 flu jab info (UK specific)
Hi all, This is specific for UK based people. I was in my GP waiting room (accompanying my mother) when I overheard the receptionist say “yes, we are taking bookings for flu injections now”. That caused me to check online and I found this.. https://www.england.nhs.uk/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/annual-national-flu-programme

A CANCER VACCINE….. At last visit my Doc mentioned a vaccine, but I didn’t inquire with him Further, then read this in Tampa Bay Times.
A vaccine, called ImmuneFx, makes cancer cells visible to the immune system. After successful trials on animals, it's being tested on humans. Times staff writer TAMPA - Tampa scientists Michael and Patricia Lawman imagine a day when cancer could be treated with a single needle prick and no debilitating

Shingles Vaccine
My Rheumatologist has recommended that I get a shingles vaccination before starting biologics. Anyone else under 50 and received vaccine? Any adverse events? I’ve read mixed reviews since no studies have been conducted on safety of vaccine in patients with autoimmune disease. I am getting it tomorrow
