Phyllocontin

Is anyone else struggling to source Phyllocontin and had a replacement med. Thanks for any comments or thoughts on this, I'll perhaps contact the Lung advice line. Joy

Whilst cleaning my office found a strip of yup Phyllocontin which expired in 2014. Thought I’ll try one. Asthma revolution over night! So told surgery that I’ve taken out of date meds and peek flow has gone from 285 to 480 after taking said meds.

Thank you to you all who took the time and trouble to reply about Phyllocontin replacement. The practice clinical pharmacist phoned yesterday lunchtime and we had a long chat.

It's not really a big problem but, are they going the same way as Phyllocontin, which I used to take and was discontinued in 2021.

Why Phyllocontin was withdrawn ? I have only heard 'no longer commercially available' but would like to know more. Whether there is any research available on the impact of the withdrawal of Phyllocontin and its replacement with Uniphyllin Continus.

Anybody else on Phyllocontin ? Not sure what it’s supposed to do, but I have been taking it for some time.. I have been told by my GP that is to be discontinued.. He had no idea what it can be replaced with. Any ideas??

I was prescribed it twice a day but do 10mg about 6am (I wake up earlier than I need to, take it then go to sleep again), 5mg at about 11.30am with my Phyllocontin and 5mg at 4pm. This was after I joined a Facebook group (Adrenal Diseases Self Help Group – lots of useful info if you’re on FB).

I've been taking phyllocontin for just over a week now. I don't know if it's coincidence, but I've had horrid heart palpitations for a few days. Feels like my heart is vibrating! I got woken up last night with awful stabbing pain in Im guessing my heart. Went back to sleep shortly after.

Is anyone on phyllocontin? Just been prescribed this by my consultant yesterday. Interested to hear how effective it is. Thanks 😊

Hi everybody, I have been told by my chemist that Phyllocontin, all versions (Continus and Forte) are out of stock till mid to late July. Has anybody else had the same problem ?

Hi all: for those who take Phyllocontin, all versions (Continus and Forte) are out of stock till mid to late July. Had trouble getting mine, so as advised by AUK called the pharma company and they told me that. They advised me to contact my Dr and ask for an alternative so trying Nuelin.

Was given Phyllocontin by consultant. 2 tablets made heart pound so agreed I tablet daily. Stopped after month horrible headaches. Currently take Fostair 200/6 , Spiriva Respimat , daily antibiotic , meds for sinuses. Even when well Salbutamol is used daily.

Already on max dose Fostair Nexthaler, Spiriva Respimat, Phyllocontin, montelukast. I have a lot of symptoms day to day but also sometimes get 'mini-attacks' - sometimes with an obvious trigger, sometimes not.

Hello everyone I'm really new to this but have a quick question, I've had to reduce my PHYLLOCONTIN from 2 in the morning and 1 at night to just 1 tablet morning and 1at night because they were reaching toxic levels.

Has anyone came off Phyllocontin tablets when they have been on them a long time? Any advice?

I started on these last week, just one 225mg a day, I just wondered if I could still have a couple of beers at the weekend, there's not much info in the leaflet.

I also take 2 Phyllocontin tablets each day.
