Re-referral

I saw the asthma nurse at my surgery today...apparently I wasn’t supposed to have been seen in person but they’d confused the process and booked me in.

Anyhow, I saw her cos my asthma isn’t great at the moment and I’m already on highest doses of my meds& tablets to go with. What was helpful was that she haS re-referred me back to Thoracic's because during lockdown, hospital helpfully wrote me out of clinic because of Covid backlog. 😠

But today my asthma nurse was like ‘ I’ll refer you back! ‘ Don’t know why they discharged you in first place.

It is annoying isn’t it, but at least she’s referred me back& has stepped up my meds to what consultant had me on before stepping it down....with GP’s permission.

So now I’m back to :

Fostair 200/6 : 6 puffs a day

Spireva x 2

Alvesco

Montelukast

Phyllocontin , plus ventilin as and when needed! All to be able to breathe!

I know what you mean. Several things have been getting messed up, confused and generally stuffed... and, as you'll know, it's exasperating when you know you're right but the other person can't see it... until you can almost hear the penny drop from a great height. That's a great moment.

Thankfully the nurse (&GP) have been on board and have quickly tried to get you back on track. Here's hoping it's enough.

Good luck with getting your asthma stabilised.

Thank you! Yes, thankfully I have a great asthma nurse at my surgery! She’s had to call the ambulance for me twice from the surgery resulting in 11 day hospital stays so she knows how bad I come become quickly.

Yes lots of treatment is getting chopped and changed at the moment. Exasperating definitely!

Thank you and take care!
