Anybody else on Phyllocontin ?

Not sure what it’s supposed to do, but I have been taking it for some time..

I have been told by my GP that is to be discontinued.. He had no idea what it can be replaced with.

Any ideas??

I'm not on Phyllocontin but the information leaflet that comes with the med will tell you all about it.

You can download a PDF here also: medicines.org.uk/emc/produc...

Further this information may help you discuss further with your GP:

Hi, my asthma nurse rang the other day and said it can be swapped to Theophylline or Uniphyllin. She was going to chat with the hospital team first just to get their advice but they were the options.

I use uniphyllin MB , just a low dose at the moment, I have befn told the dose im on is like 3 strong cups of coffee ☕, I've got to admit at times it can cause the shakes in my hands but if I stretch out the doses that subcides ( or maybe its just another bottle of wine I need , lol ) just kidding 😂.

I have had uniphyllin in the past. It didn’t agree with me unfortunately 🥴

Or fortunately, but we are all different where medicines are concerned.

A bottle of wine could possibly do the trick...although I’d probably dip into Baileys more! My Fostair makes me shake like goodness knows what too! Maybe I didn’t drink enough Baileys!!

It's for Asthma - I used it and was not keen although, it's normally effective.

Have you started it yet? Is it ok? It’s a shame because I find phylocontin really helpful so hopefully the new one will be just as effective!
