Beer and phyllocontin

I started on these last week, just one 225mg a day, I just wondered if I could still have a couple of beers at the weekend, there's not much info in the leaflet.

Hi Two2sheds

I asked my respiratory nurse the same question about scotch some weeks ago. She said it wouldn't really make much difference if I had the odd one or two now and again It's something to do with the alcohol either increasing/decreasing the levels of the drug in the blood I've had a few since then and haven't noticed any unwanted side effects and as the saying goes "a little bit of what you fancy does you good"

I have been taking this for 3 years and I can only have one or 2 drinks because I find alcohol increases my theophylline levels but everyone is different. I called asthma uk for advice and they were very helpful.
