Final quest to find cause of extreme fatigue & hair loss.
I wan't to ensure that the blood gets to the overseas UK lab in time, as I spent £164.50 in the spring because the (within walking distance of hospital

Scheduled Surgery
I did just have a
phlebotomy
after a year without needing one. My HCT finally crept back up to 44.1 so we went ahead and did it. As usual, no big deal. I will see what the labs look like right before the surgery. I did have to get a COVID swab test (negative).

The dread of going for my blood test, at GP's as shielding
Only two allowed in surgery , a good 10 feet apart, all surfaces in
phlebotomy
room cleansed and sanitized between each patient, all staff and nurses in full ppe gear. It did reassure me some what. Mind you glad to get out and home, first time out in nearly twelve weeks as shielding.

Longterm Interferon treatment
Hi, I’ve been diagnosed with PV some 3 years ago. My current treatment is aspirin and phlebotomies which have worked well. However, my symptom burden is slowly increasing. I am experiencing increased brain fog, decline in cognitive function, and bone pain. NAC (2-3 x 600mg per day) has definitely helped

Update - Good News/Not good news
He recommends continuing my current treatment regimen for JAK2+ PV age 65 -
phlebotomy
-only with no cytoreduction and no aspirin. Not a typical recommendation I know, but it is working for me. 1 year on this regimen and doing well.

Thyroid deterioration or A Fib??
The local hospital
phlebotomy
department is still open and I have Medichecks kit for thyroid only. So what do you folks think? Should I do the Medichecks test now, wait for the 20th, or ask for the GP test to be done sooner?

Routine bloodwork and Phlebotomy
My doctor has created a standing order for me to continue to get bloodwork every 4 weeks as my Pegasys dose increases. And he says if the hematocrit is still elevated I’ll have to continue with monthly phlebotomies as well. He says the risk of thrombosis outweighs the risk of covid-19. Are other folks

Finally, some good news! Pegasys and Phlebotomies are working!
PV JAK2+ diagnosed in Jan 2020 after suffering a TIA. Doc put me on twice daily baby aspirin, and Pegasys at only 25% dose (25ml/45mcg). After 8 weeks, my platelets are back under 400 and alongside the monthly phlebotomies, my Hct is now below 45%. Not much to notice in side-effects either - just some

Thanks Boris for giving us a chance as long as it is not just words. You must enforce it in the rural areas not just the cities.Usethe army.
Rang my local hospital and found they have a
phlebotomy
service just for haematology patients twice a week, so it may be worth travelling to get blood tests in a safer atmosphere.
