I am having a recently developed intolerance of Liothyronine Sodium investigated and am thinking of ordering some additional private blood tests as those being taken by the NHS seem to be very limited. Does anybody know how to find a reputable private clinic that takes bloods for sending away for private analysis please? I can't imagine my GP would be happy to facilitate this given how booked up blood test appointments always are at the GP practice. The hospital's phlebotomy clinic always need a blood test form printed by the GP. I am in the Reading area in case that helps.
Any help anyone is able to offer would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

If you are in the UK then we have recommended labs that will do a variety of tests and have clinics where you can go for the blood draw, or you can do them by fingerprick at home.
For full Thyroid evaluation you need TSH, FT4 and FT3 plus both TPO and TG thyroid antibodies tested. Also EXTREMELY important to test vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12
Recommended on here that all thyroid blood tests should ideally be done as early as possible in morning and before eating or drinking anything other than water .
Last dose of Levothyroxine 24 hours prior to blood test. (taking delayed dose immediately after blood draw).
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip, best not mentioned to GP or phlebotomist)
If/when also on T3, make sure to take last third or half of daily dose 8-12 hours prior to test, even if this means adjusting time or splitting of dose day before test
Private tests are available as NHS currently rarely tests Ft3 or thyroid antibodies or all relevant vitamins
Florellina - If you just want someone to actually collect the blood, if you Google "Mobile Phlebotomist (the where you live)" you might be surprised how many results there are.
Thanks very much. Yes it was just the blood draw i was after so this is really helpful. I have also been given lots of other helpful info in the process so it’s all good. Thanks
I was astonished how many there are in my area (Leicestershire). I knew of one service, which I have used, but only Googled when I saw a car bearing advertising decals for "Michelle - Mobile Phlebotomist".
From that particular lady's Facebook page, she states she is out working in the community.
