Thanks Boris for giving us a chance as long as it is not just words. You must enforce it in the rural areas not just the cities.Usethe army.

Went to my community phelbotomy service this morning to find it had been closed and consolidated with everyone being sent to 2 other community hospitals. Declined to go as I knew everyone else would attend regardless. Frankly was scared to go in the first place but arrived for opening to try and lessen exposure but was not going to an even more packed hospital. Especially as I knew both both alternatives and the ability to self isolate was nil.

Rang my local hospital and found they have a phlebotomy service just for haematology patients twice a week, so it may be worth travelling to get blood tests in a safer atmosphere. They are aware and not just office workers but be prepared for a wait on the phone and ask either the clinic staff or the haematology secretaries. Leave your consultant alone, they have too much to do.

I am lucky in having a garden where I can isolate plus a wood I can drive to that is easy to take paths through the trees if anyone else is around. If you don,t ,don't take chances. This will end, all plagues have. If you can encourage any members of your family, friends etc. to give blood then do so, it may not help you but you might benefit from the actions of my wife and son who have booked sessions.

Hi Skodaguy

I thoroughly agree about the army. Unfortunately we live in a time where people will just not be told what to do. The police can’t enforce all this, they were stretched to the limit before this happened never mind this. Look at the CEO of sports direct. The government have said all non essential retail shops must close. The CEO of sports Direct has ordered that the workers must go in to work because they sell fitness supplies so they are exempt. Greedy people like this need locking up.

What system is going to be put into place to lock people down. I thoroughly believe that people should be assigned a number or group and given time slots where only they can go shopping. They should also carry proof that it is their time to shop. I just have no idea how all of this is going to be enforced. You can’t give a £1,000 fine to someone with no means of paying. What about the homeless, who helps them?

I would not be the Prime Minister of this country if you paid me all the money in China. Good luck Boris.

Yes, agree too. We need the army in as people are heading out to the country to avoid the cities but putting communities at risk and overwhelming local health services. Key workers have to get to and from work but others shouldn’t travel. Keep well, keep safe. Aime xx😻😻

We could have done with the army at West wittering beach on Sunday, masses turned up to spend the day on the beach. Absolutely irresponsible and dangerous for the locals. When will they learn!!!

They won't. All the people ignoring the advice to isolate are in the age group that statistics say have low mortality. They have no idea of public service. I was a GP for nearly 25 years 15 of which I had an MPN. Either PV or CML then MF. I amnow stuck knowing need a transfusion but can't get an FBC done unless I disregaerd guidelines.

I have never had so much disgust for the people of the UK. I have had notes of help put through my letter box but had to rely on my son in law to get me antibiotics today as developed cellulitis of my left hand due to skin damage from frequent hand washing.

See my earlier posts re blood transfusions. If you can persuede any relative to give blood please do otherwide we will die form lack of it
