I've been on dialysis 9 years, my BP WAS FINE all these years, even little bit of on the high side, until this couple years that my BP ALL OF SUDDEN WENT TO THE low side, like 100 over 55 all the time, some times it interfered with my dialysis, I mean I couldn't pull as much as I suppose to. I have

Preparing for dialysis, scared and confused
Hi, 49 y.o. female. To give a little background on me, I was working in 2008 when I was found to have protein in my urine. Scared and stupid I didn't go back to the nephrologist. Stopped working in 2010, complicated reasons. From 2010 to 2018 health was declining, I kept putting off going to the doctor

Surviving Dialysis
Don't mean to scare anyone. But I saw this statistics on a website and wonder what are some reasons that people die from dialysis and more importantly, how to prevent those cases? "After one year of treatment, those on dialysis have a
20-25%
mortality rate, with a 5-year survival rate of 35%.

Alagille Syndrome/TOF with Pulmonary Atresia
Hi everyone, my son was diagnosed with alagille syndrome when he was one month old. At first they thought it was only tetralogy of fallot (TOF). At one month old he was having tet spell and had to have open heart surgery. They put a cardiac central shunt to allow better blood flow to his lung. That procedure

Dialysis Nurses Trying to give unsolicited medical advice
At my dialysis center I currently use a permacath due to my graft that I've had for 6 years stopped working. Tried having it declotted. But, they don't last forever. The Charge Nurse keeps hounding me about a new access. I've had 2 PD pumps before both after the graph. The first one placed on the left

Looking for ways to find a kidney donor
I have polycystic kidney disease myself, but I’m actually writing in regards to my uncle. His daughter was approved as a match for a kidney and the transplant was to happen in June, but she has backed out because her new boyfriend told her if she wanted to have another baby she would need both of her

Experience with Prolia injections for osteoarthritis, osteopenia, etcetera
Just wanted to know how many of you have experienced with the Prolia injection that last 6 months in your body. No matter what happens if you have an adverse affect you either have to be in the hospital all the time to fix whatever it does to you or sometimes it can be deadly. I say this because my husband

Kidney Donor & Blood Pressure
Hi, I’m in the process of trying to become a kidney donor for my mom. She’s been on dialysis for a couple of months now. I’m a match and I’ve passed all the other tests; however, I was told that I need to get my blood pressure down first before I can get the final approval. I workout regularly but

New to pd
Hi there, new to this group. I started pd dialysis in January this year and still feeling bad. I’m wondering how long it takes for someone to start feeling better. I’m always tired and my weight keeps going up from my target weight. Has anyone has any idea what I should do. I really feel bad and guilty

I got a kidney!!!! Thank God
I was told today I have kidney waiting and my surgery date is the 12th of June barring and problems. I am so happy I am getting my life back. I want to jump out of my skin I'm so happy. I pray it works out cause dialysis was wearing me down. I hate going there.
