I have polycystic kidney disease myself, but I’m actually writing in regards to my uncle. His daughter was approved as a match for a kidney and the transplant was to happen in June, but she has backed out because her new boyfriend told her if she wanted to have another baby she would need both of her kidneys. Of course this is ridiculous, but she got spooked and pulled out and now my uncle, who has been on dialysis for several years, is in need of a kidney again. I don’t know where to begin to try and help find him a kidney, other than posting it on social media. Is there a better way to do this? They have been very private but now they’ve allowed me to speak out about it and try to find help. If you have any suggestions at all, that would be so helpful! He is located in New York, Pennsylvania.

Looking for ways to find a kidney donor
I’m wondering the same thing. My niece is just 23 and diagnosed with Microscopic Polyangitis Vasculitis and has lost complete function of kidneys. She too is living on dialysis and waiting for a kidney.
Please post if you find out anything.
I understand the desire to have this be a private issue for your uncle, but I hope he also understands there are many people, like me, who, once they find out about a need for kidney donation, will step up to the plate. So, the pride of 'keeping it private,' actually works against you. Once you've exhausted your family members for support, think of friends, groups you have belonged to (past or present), and get the word out there. Some people put up placards in their car about their need, some people put up signs at events, some people write in their religious group's newsletter, etc. Brainstorm as many options as you can come up with. Then, have a contact person who interested people can get in touch with, and let them know what the process entails. Good luck!!!
Perhaps you don't have to look too far.... what if your cousin went to a nephrologist WITH her boyfriend to have his concerns addressed about having a baby with only 1 kidney? Perhaps she'll be able to go forward with her donation!
Best of luck to you all!
