Is anyone using the entraneal solution? If so what is your treatment plan. I’m a caregiver for my son and he just started peritoneal dialysis

entraneal dialysis purple solution
My husband used the PD purple solution. However, his primary solutions were the yellow and green on the cycler. He was prescribed the purple for long daytime dwells. The most efficient solutions are glucose based and come in yellow, green, and red bags, in increasing order of strength. Purple isn't glucose based so it doesn't work as well, but it worked fine for my husband where he only needed a little additional, gentle toxin removal. He also didn't want additional glucose since he's a T2D. (The red made him cramp.) Hope this helps.
Traditionally it is given to T2D patients as an alternative to dextrose based solution. It is still a form of glucose but the molecules are much larger and don't pass through the peritoneal membrane (so not entering the blood stream). It can also be used for regular patients for a long dwell as you don't reabsorb fluids after the initial couple of hours like in dextrose.
Thank you so much for the information
