Surgery vs SBRT Cyberknife
I posted this in the Advanced PC group and shouldn't have, as my Hubs is not in an advanced stage. Posting here in hopes of more input! I apologize if you are in the other group and have already seen this! Hubs diagnosed 11/15/23. 2 of 12 positive. Gleason 6 and 7. PSA 3.7-4.2. Met with Surgeon first

biopsy - fragmented cores and progression risk
I had 3 biopsies from January 2020 to July 2022. The first two almost identical being Gleason 3+4 with <10% 4. However 6 months post HIFU it was Gleason 9 with 4+5 with 10% 5 and 70% 5 (see below). I am curious as the cores are fragmented and so it’s hard to know what this means and if it makes any

Maintenance Chemo
I was diagnosed with stage 2 endometrioid cancer five years ago. I went through chemo treatments: carboplatin and taxol. I even had IP belly washes of taxol. They are not doing these any longer in the US. Sadly, my cancer reoccurred six months ago. I was cancer free and in remission for five years. The

ibrance/letrozole - when did tumor shrink?
For those of you taking ibrance and letrozole, when did you notice a reduction in your breast lump? When you first started on the meds, how long did it take before you noticed things were changing and tumor started shrinking?

History of my cancer becoming castrate resistant
Thinking that some people might be interested to know how my metastatic cancer became castrate resistant I posting a brief history. When on Lupron break, my PSA reached 1.1 on June 1, 2022. I had a CT scan which found a new lymph node enlargement [Retrocaval lymph node measures 0.5 x 1.1 cm (series

NY Times Darolutamide Ad
I wonder how much a two-page ad (pages 12-13) in the Sunday edition of the New York Times costs? It begins with a story about Dr. Tom Green, urologist, who has had PCa for 19 years, however, it became metastatic only recently . He has opted for Darolutamide. Segue to Dr. Matthew Smith, lead in

Statin use and outcomes of oncological treatment for castration-resistant prostate cancer - From the Finnish poulation, Nature, 11/01/23
As a follow-up to recent posts on statins and PCa, here is another Euopean study, this time from the Finns. As noted in the Abstract below, they come to the conclusion of no/little benefit for crPCa, but maybe some for csPCa. The apparent pooling of data for specific type/form of statin does not provide

? For fellow BATmen on daro and androgen stimulation. Great Article
I came across this 2023 article and i think it poses a great outcome for us who are cycling high T and darolutamide. Am I correct that this article correlates positively with our BAT with Daro? I find this article extremely fascinating although it is complex. I need to learn more about proteonomic

Please send me some positivity.
I have just had the results of my CT scan and I have been told I have a recurrance in one para-aortic lymph node. I will either need surgery (if they can), chemo or radiotherapy. I'm so scared as this is my first recurrence from Stage 4 ovarian cancer and I'm only 56 and have two teenagers. I can't

Abnormalities on the CT 6 months after Chemo (while on Niraparib) CA125 at 4.9, anyone same experience?
Dear ladies, Background : IVB HSOC Jan 2023, Debulking April 23, last chemo June 23, on Niraparib since Aug 23, diagnosed at 40 yo (now 41). Now CT shows small abnormalities: They saw 2 nodular abnormalities on CT scan, (16mm) suspecting local recurrence but they do not know for sure. Also they noticed

Association between different water iodine exposures & thyroid cancer: A retrospective study of high water iodine areas in China 2009-20
There are many differences between China and the UK. Including other aspects of water quality/analysis, diet, etc. For example, distribution of selenium in China is very complicated with adjacent areas sometimes have very different selenium intake. Therefore, we simply cannot pick up this paper and apply

Peripheral neuropathy
Hi everyone, I hope everyone is safe during this awful weather I have been told in my latest review that I have Stage 1 peripheral neuropathy. Bit of a blow as having read up it means I have to tell DVLA as I shouldn’t drive. All treatments and appointments are an hour away by car, longer by bus. No

Chris Kamara and Things Thyroid
I found this interesting as he supported the thyroid care petition, and before that I didn’t even realise that he also had a thyroid problem. I remember also wondering myself about Alzheimers the other year as I didn’t know what was happening to me. https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2023/nov/04

Update – surgery tomorrow, then on to Xeloda
Hello all – hope that the new year is finding you all on a good journey to healing and wellness. I unfortunately have been in and out of the hospital for 21 days with seven new MRIs as they are trying to discover the root cause of my back pain and inability to walk. In addition to the extensive bone
