Dear ladies,

Background : IVB HSOC Jan 2023, Debulking April 23, last chemo June 23, on Niraparib since Aug 23, diagnosed at 40 yo (now 41). Now CT shows small abnormalities:

They saw 2 nodular abnormalities on CT scan, (16mm) suspecting local recurrence but they do not know for sure. Also they noticed 2 nodular abnormalities (=hyperdense tissue ) of 6mm closer to my heart and one to the liver. All organs ok and clean so is everything else.

I was so hoping for another clear scan after such a short period as I feel great (last CT in July 23) so this came as a hit now :( My CA125 is at 4.9 so lowest possible level (started from 440 when diagnosed) so am still hopeful but I also know my CA125 dropped to 16 after 3 courses of Chemo before surgery while I had still cancer in me.

My doctor advised to continue with Niraparib and do scan in 6 months again with bimonthly check of CA markers. I asked if there is any other way to have second check what it is (PET Scan, MRI, etc) but he said only thing we can do is see in next scan whether there is a change. You can only know for sure if you take it out which is not a (recommended) option.

Anyone with similar experience or anything else I could still do to check and most important to stop it from growing / spreading? I know this is difficult question even for doctor but maybe someone with similar experience.

Thank u so much for reading !

Much hugs, health and love to all !

X

Hi. I’m sorry you find yourself here. I had an enlarged lymph node after frontline and freaked out but I asked for a PET scan and thankfully it showed the node wasn’t cancer. I would push for a PET.

Hi Delia2 :) thank you for your advice !! So happy to read you are doing ok ! I actually asked for PET scan but oncologist said it won’t give us more information. Do you remember / know how big your enlarged node was ?

Big thanks for advice.

I also feel some pressures around my heart but not sure if is from stress, menopause or sth else 🤪.

Much love& hugs,

It was 3.6 x 2.3 cm. It slowly shrank over about two years.
