Aortic Disection
I was diagnosed with AD in July 2018. I am too old for surgery which is very risky and could cause stroke, paralysis and even death, so basically I am living on borrowed time. I have been given Amlodipine and Indapamide to keep BP below 120 and take my own BP readings. Apart from echos and dye included

Exercise and peak HR
If a cardiologist has said there is nothing wrong with my heart, bar hypertension and some plaque in arteries is it ok to jog and have a HR of 162? I love jogging but HR goes high when I do it. I can row and cycle and HR goes to 130 max but I don't get the buzz. Cardiologist suggested there may be autonomic

Normal heart rate walking?
Is a heart rate of 125-130 normal when gently walking around a park or round shops aged 49 size 10/12, fit person. My ejection fraction is apparently normal (55) but everything exhausts me. Also when I then do a 30 minute bike ride at gym, going as fast as I can , it's still around the same, 130. Makes

Hello. Have been prescribed the above for medium BP. Made me so sick and ill, loose bowels, nausea weakness, but they did work a little. Tried to cut in half but the symptoms are worse. Am supposed to put up with it for a time, but that thought is unbearable. The scrip is for 2,5 mg but

Starting Digoxin
My Afib started after a bout with pneumonia about 4 months ago along with severe dehydration, over worked, stressed, etc. Started me on meds (apixaban, perindopril, bisoprolol and statins). Terrible tiredness and dizziness. They did a cardioversion but it didn't take. Now they're talking about ablation

AF and Levothyroxine.....anyone?
Yesterday I saw my gp as for months now I've had the most awful cough, breathlessness and chest pain, in fact I sometimes worry that I ignore the chest pain too much and wouldn't acknowledge if it were serious! My 'flutters' with the AF are constant lately too. Anyway, my gp has said that maybe the

Heart failure explanation.
Heart failure is an umbrella term for any problems with the heart not pumping properly. I would be hard pressed to explain it further as the reasons are many. Mine is because the left-sided part of my heart is slightly stiff due to years of high blood pressure. This is common and more pronounced as you

Flecanaide
After being given these at the hospital last week the side effects of them were not good. The EP sent me a msg to say I could stop them. I have now transferred to Indapamide at 5 mg each day and feel so much better. Although I am still quite breathless it is a bit better and my BP is 121/70. So little

Hyperkinetic heart syndrome
Anyone familiar with this? I had a stress echo which said hyperkinetic and just wondering if people have experience of this? And treatment. I'm currently on propanalol and perindopril for tachycardia and palpitations and raised BP.

Beta blocker withdrawal effects
I have been suffering from tachycardia/poor circulation since October following immunosuppressant treatment and seen various drs. One Doctor put me on Propanalol 10mg once a day for the anxiety/high pulse on 1st February 2019. I didn't like the side effects but continued to take them daily. On 18th February

Nasty side effects on Indapamide so need a withdrawal plan.
Was on Indapamide from last October and had a review in January (BP down from 177 over 112 to average 155 over 86) when my Doctor decided to change the medication to Doxazosin. Really bad reaction, so Doctor stopped them and put me back on Indapamide. My BP spiked for several days to around 200 over
