the gold standard?
my gp keeps trying different combinations of BP meds for me as lately I can’t control it even with medication. Is there a really, really good drug that helps but they don’t like to prescribe due to cost? I would happily pay for private prescriptions if it meant my quality of life was improved. Currently

Indapamide
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone was on the drug Indapamide? This is diuretic that also helps control blood pressure. I have been on Amlodipine for about a year and it has kept my blood pressure spot on but I am suffering very swollen ankles and feet, a common side effect I am told. The dr therefore

Recent post about sinus congestion and BP drugs - I can't find it...
I remember seeing a post which I think mentioned sinus congestion possibly related to drugs used for high blood pressure but now can't find it. My husband has been taking ramipril and amlodipine for several years and for the last 2-3 years has suffered intermittent but significant congestion - feeling

Would like some advice please.
I made an appointment to see the GP yesterday because I was becoming really breathless. I normally walk 2 to 3 miles a day, but have been struggling to do that recently. It was the nurse I saw, who checked me over and BP was pretty high, but pulse only 42, so she went to talk to the doc, who said to

Which BP medication should I ask my doc for?
I been through many different BP medications. I started many years ago with Lisinopril, but got the classic cough. Moved to Amlodipine, then Candesartan, then Indapamide, back to Amlodipine, Lercanidipine and now back on Indapamide. Each worked to reduce my BP, but each had side effects I wasn't happy

Terrible hand pain.
Terrible pain in my right hand wakes me up in the night. I have arthritis in the base of my thumb and my middle finger has reoccurring trigger finger. The pain is now in the whole hand and palm. Lesser so in the left hand.Seems to have started when I began to take Indapamide for blood pressure. I also

I’ll be 71 in May so think I’ve done extremely well to avoid having to go onto BP medication until now! I’ve been prescribed Indapamide & been told to have bloods redone in 2 weeks time to make sure it hasn’t affected my kidneys. ✌️It doesn’t as my kidney function is currently fine. My cholesterol

Propranalol or Bisoprolol
I had Afib for the first time at the beginning of December …and was put on Apixaban. I will be having an echocardiogram scan in due course. In A&E the doctor told me to continue with my BP meds of Indapamide 2.5mg and Propranolol. I had an assessment two days later and another ECG …by then

Microvascular Disease / Syndrome X
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I have chest pain/discomfort most days and am very restricted in what I can do. I get breathless and tightness in my chest when I try to do things that most people would take for granted, including light housework, light gardening, lifting/pushing/pulling most things heavier

Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (PoTS) in 68 year old woman?
I have had L*** C**** for over 18 months including loss of smell and breathlessness, plus raised BP and now what appears to be PoTS on standing up, with HR over 125 (DIY diagnosis at HR rises 30 points on standing). I have had clear lung X-rays, an echocardiogram which was good, and phone appointment
