the gold standard?

my gp keeps trying different combinations of BP meds for me as lately I can’t control it even with medication. Is there a really, really good drug that helps but they don’t like to prescribe due to cost? I would happily pay for private prescriptions if it meant my quality of life was improved. Currently on Lorstan 100mg and indapamide 2.5mg the latter gives me a headache and I’m waking up 2-3 a night to wee!

I believe (though I stand to be corrected ) that if you buy a prescription it has to be prescribed privately. So you might go down that route. Personally I’ve no idea on prices and although doctors are urged to go for cheaper things of they can, they arent constrained by price. Though they do have an overall budget I think.

Your pharmacist would know I expect.

yes that’s right and an unnecessary ongoing monthly cost. Could you not be referred to a specialist?
