Matching Blood Pressure Med's to individuals commodities? or maybe, most likely, not?
Hi all, I have taken Blood Pressure Medication (Irbesartan) for around 15 years and I imagine the same as many 'here' I was originally prescribed the medication upon the outset of high blood pressure and at the time 'we' had no other related commodities, IE no other cardio related ills. 15 years on

First day of cardio
Hey guy's, I'm a 50 year old who is six weeks into a stent placement after suffering a heart attack. First day of cardio rehabilitation today and I'm feeling the nerves. After being taken to hospital in an ambulance last Sunday after almost passing out (blood pressure was fine) I've been feeling pretty

Monkey whispering in my ear
I’m 5 weeks into double bypass CABG recovery and feeling really good. So good that a monkey on my shoulder has started to whisper in my ear such things as AF and STROKE. I think I maybe need a good telling off and a kick, and need to get on with my life now, (I’m very lucky to be fixed) OR are these

Hi all, My head is all over the place at the moment and I am sure many on here will have been in a similar predicament. Therefore, I thought I would post my experience and see if any of you would be kind enough to share any tips. I am a 44 year old male teacher who lives with my long term girlfriend

Chest pain few days after a Heart attack
Hi everyone, my father had a heart attack two days ago, he had a blockage in LAD, which I'm told is a major artery and had a stent put in. However, today he experienced chest pain and shortness in breath, which didn't go away with the under the tounge spray ( sorry can't remember it's name) and aspirin

Just checking please - 48 bpm
Hi fellow heart-people I hope you are all well. It’s my four week anniversary of CABG double bypass and doing well so far ! I hope this progress continues. I bought an apple watch and perhaps have become too obsessed by the heart monitor. It is showing my BPM at rest as 48/49. I’m on Amiaderone for

Apixaban
My warfarin has been ceased and I have been commenced on Apixaban. Since taking Apixaban I have been breathless and feel tight in the chest. I have had double CABG and a bovine valve replacing my aortic valve. Any suggestions should I go back to warfarin or continue with the Apixaban for a few more

Feeling very alone
Hi all I had a stent fitted 3 months ago and am still getting a tightening of the chest and a pain on the right hand side. I was back in hospital 3 weeks ago as I just felt really poorly and GTN spray wouldn’t get rid of the feeling ECG was fine and Blood was OK However since coming out the same things

Feeling a bit wobbly!
Hi all🙋, We're into the final countdown now before hubby goes in for a procedure next Tuesday. Trouble is, they won't know until they start whether they can fix him with another stent (he had one last November), or go straight into a bypass situation. Apparently, this is a distinct possibility for

Low iron. Raised Hb1ac
Has anyone suffered from low iron levels post HA and stent. GP friend of mine suggested anti coagulation medication could be reason. Also rising Hb1ac despite losing nearly one and half stone in weight.

Hey all, I'm new to the forum and am glad to see that there are other people out there to share this with. I've had a stent placed 5 weeks ago and am having a wee bit of a hard time coming to terms with the ups and downs after treatment. The worst thing would be the chest pains mixed up with nausea and

Irbesartan or Co-diovan? whats best post stent and common side affects
Hi all, I have taken Irbesartan for 10+ and I guess I wont be the first to suspect my BP med is 'to blame' for a number of ills, fatigue, muscle weakness and routinely low red blood cells in the main, all are listed as possible side effects. I appreciate all meds can have side effects and without

Lack of appetite and dizzy in the morning.
Good morning all. I had a heart attack 5 weeks ago and have had a stent placed to open up a 50% blocked artery. The problem I'm having now is that my appetite is terrible and when I wake up in the morning I'm feeling very weak and dizzy. Does anyone else out there have the same symptoms as it's driving
