Can’t believe it
I had a silent heart attack last Wednesday and an angioplasty Saturday, at home now resting but it doesn’t feel like I had an attack and can’t believe it. The angioplasty seems like a bad dream. Bit uncomfortable and slight pain but surreal feeling anyone else feel or felt like this

My Dad is fighting Covid on a ventilator
Hi, I hope you can help me. I am really struggling now, I miss my Dad so much. He was admitted to hospital in January 8th and has been on a ventilator since the 11th. He has contracted pneumonia twice and managed to fight it off both times. He had 2 mild heart attacks, one of which required a stent.

Drugs pits stent
Had stents done yesterday. Now given Perindopril (used prior to stents) Bisoprodol Fumerate, Trangina XL (used Momomax XL prior to stent) concerned they will lower blood pressure too much as prior to stent BP was 125/75 or slightly less. Was surprised that nitrates are continued too. Think it is OTT

Swimming in cold water after HA
Hi I suffered a heart attack October last year, one stent fitted and on the usual cocktail of medication, is there a rule of thumb on what water temperature is ok to swim in? Heard varying opinions on how cold water should be avoided. Thanks Jon

Medication
Stent - I had a heart attack in August and after 3 admissions to hospital was finally fitted with a stent. I am on lots of medication and wonder if it will soon be possible to come off some of it. It seems a bit like belt and braces with having to take aspirin and another blood thinner?

Infection. What a Story.
I had been trotting along fairly well after chemo, Avasten and serious debulking surgery. I needed more monthly chemo as my CA125 bloods were still high. Well, we decided to put it off until January so that I could go interstate to see my 98 years old Dad in aged care. We couldn't do that because

Chest Pains.
I keep getting chest pains but had X-rays for my chest and it is all normal. They keep saying it is muscular pain but I have taken everything they give me and nothing seems to work.

Decision to be made
I have to undergo surgery to fix an aneurysm in my right Ileac artery. Due to the positioning, the consulting surgeon has said there are two options. Option 1 is to open me up across the lower abdomen and perform major surgery that way. Option 2 is to use "keyhole surgery" which more or less means

Hi, my husband had a heart attack in May and it was found he has a totally blocked artery with no stent possible. He is 80 and also has diabetes and has been quite a fit man. . He was discharged after one night in hospital with meds, not all of which suit him. We have had no follow up and no idea what

Risk of ICDs and living with an ICD
Hi, I am a 64 male and am new to the BHF community. Following a heart attack in 2019 and having a stent fitted, my cardiologist has advised having an ICD fitted. I am trying to weigh up the pros and cons of a traditional ICD and a subcutaneous ICD ("S- ICD"). From advice received I think the major downside

What sort of heart problem do I have then?!
I had a heart attack 4-years ago, and had a stent inserted in my right artery. Cardio-rehab helped me back to my normal life (and better than ever before). A year later I had an A&E admission due to a sudden AF: cardio-versioning failed and I joined the bisoprolol club. Two weeks ago I had another ride

Covid vaccine
Hi all, slightly confused regarding priority groups for the Covid vaccine. Can anyone tell me if having had a heart attack and one stent, no other issues, puts me in the vulnerable category i.e. the 16 to 64 group which I believe is group 6. Am I classed as having heart failure ? I am 63 yrs old and

Insomnia and anxiety
I have palpitations and arrhythmia which is being investigated but I have a horrible feeling that I am going to be told to live with it as I am on beta blocker and Bp meds. I have CHD and a stent and "pre fib". But I know that good sleep is paramount and I'm getting rubbish sleep with the palpitations

Angina progressively getting worse
Just wondering if others have had similar experiences of Angina symptoms getting worse over 6-12months. Had a stent fitted in main left artery at the end of April20 instead of having a bypass because of Covid. They sent me home with the standard meds and I thought I was fixed, sadly I still got Angina
