No Blood Markers…
I have been diagnosed with non-metastatic Breast Cancer 3 times since 2005 (2 rounds of radiation + tamoxifen and then a bilateral mastectomy in 2016). My final Stage 4 diagnosis came in 2022 with mets in spine, Lungs & lymph nodes. I was surprised at the diagnosis since I have had regular blood tests

endo and adhesion to bowel
hi I was diagnosed with endometriosis with cysts on both ovaries that have pulled them back adhering to my bowel last month after years of downplaying my symptoms as a stressful life or the doctors saying I had IBS , unexplained abdominal pain or nerve damage after gall bladder removal. They fitted

An Interesting Dilemma
I saw this story in the Guardian today https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/nov/07/genetic-tests-could-identify-people-at-risk-of-heart-disease-nhs-study-finds And it got me thinking about genetic testing, which seems to be the future of modern medicine and something that looks likely to be expanded

Inhaler causing A Fib
Hi everyone, On Tuesday I had an episode of a fib. It lasted 16 hours. I take metoprolol Succinate Er 25mg. The next day after using one of my inhalers Incruse Ellipta I felt kinda off. My blood pressure was quite high 148/99. The next day the same thing happened. Today I woke up and my BP was still

Suitability for catheter ablation?
Hello I was diagnosed with AF a month ago. When asked, my GP told me that catheter ablation is not really done for Atrial Fibrillation. Since many of you on this forum, and elsewhere, have had a catheter ablation, I wonder whether there were any special circumstances that made the ablation appropriate

Pulse Field Ablation
Hello Everybody, Persistent AFIB since 10/2022. 74 years. At the moment continuously in NSR post DCCV in January with initiation of Multaq (giving me some symptoms with sinus bradycardia after three week Holter Monitor use - no afib recorded but monitor showed SR/SB with rates 40-100 bpm.). Sometimes

Decision time!
Would be grateful for your views on my afib journey. Was diagnosed last November with paroxysmal afib, 2.6% burden. Burden up to 6% (from 7 day monitor in March). Have reacted badly to both flecainide and bisoprolol - fatigue, faintness, short of breath. Have been advised to have an ablation. However

anticoagulant
Good morning all I have probably a silly question I am female age 56 not that fit, should do more exercise. My Apple Watch is set to show any signs of AF It has shown 2% or less week 17-23rd And same week before (I have only just set it up to show this) I had a successful Cardioversion

Update on 5th post-ablation
Had my 5th ablation March 31st. Great for 2 weeks and then back into tachycardia with bouts of atypical afib tossed in (Kardia confirmed). Scheduled for a cardioversion May 12. Meanwhile on metoprolol and diltiazem (and anticoagulated of course). Completely idiopathic and hopefully just a blip during

Ablation update
So 8 months on post ablation I am still in permanent AFib but completely symptomless. I am back to sleeping through the night, much reduced anxiety from awaiting the next daily onset of the paroxysmal AFib, I am walking/running 4 miles a day, I have a personal trainer and am in the gym 4 times a week

Breakfast then and now
Hi Afibbers. Had to miss a meal yesterday for cardioversion (back in NSR 🤞) hence my mind on breakfast this morning! Seeing as lifestyle change is central to Afib control and cure, I thought it would be interesting to share ideas on our first meal of the day and maybe how this has changed over time,

just started on levothyroxine
I have been taking levothyroxine for just over 2 months. My gp started me on a very low dose of 25mg and I’m due bloods in a month. After about 4 weeks it felt like my tiredness had improved and I was feeling more energetic but the last few weeks I feel back to square one again. I had a partial thyroidectomy

Long-term Endo here but need advice around contraceptive options
Hi everyone, bit of info about me: I was diagnosed with PCOS many years ago when trying to have children and had my first laparoscopy in 2009 where they also found small pockets of endo which they lasered off. In 2011 I had my second laparoscopy whilst still undergoing investigations for infertility
