PMR & body odour
I’ve had PMR for 3years now. Started on 60mg now tapered to 4mg. Since I dropped from 5mg my pains & stiffness have increased but also my body odour has changed - Smokey / burnt toast. Has anyone else experienced this.

Interesting comparison of different amino acids in different meats
I saw something recently that said beef is better than lamb for PD. Why is that? There is a difference in the amino acids. Could one of them be the cause either because it is higher or lower in beef? Pork was also worse. Chicken good I think? But they do look quite similar. What else would cause one

A diet low in animal fat and rich in N-hexacosanol and fisetin is effective in reducing symptoms of Parkinson's disease 2012
Saw this on NewsMax https://www.newsmax.com/health/dr-blaylock/parkinsons-brain-fisetin-hexacosanol/2022/02/23/id/1058180/ and decided to find the original report. Including the NewsMax link as it tells us N-hexacosanol is in wheat germ. A diet low in animal fat and rich in N-hexacosanol and fisetin

Freetown to Cape Town with Parkinson’s Disease
Interesting project. "I’m Guy Deacon, a retired British Army Colonel on a mission to raise awareness about the realities of living with Parkinson’s disease both in the UK and Africa. I have already driven over five thousand miles from England to Sierra Leone crossing the snowy passes of the Atlas Mountains

What are the worst drugs for Parkinson’s disease patients?
Also, drugs that deplete dopamine such as reserpine and tetrabenazine may worsen Parkinson’s disease and
parkinsonism
and should be avoided in most cases.

Surgery but without general anesthesia due to PD
I’m Wondering if anyone has had a surgery that usually requires general anesthesia but instead with just local anesthesia? Due to PD, I really do not want to be “put under.” Hard to share this but I am inquiring with doctors soon and would appreciate advice. My online search for this did not turn

UM-Palmitoylethanolamide can slow down Parkinson's disease 2017
I know, it is only 19 days since I posted on this topic: https://healthunlocked.com/cure-parkinsons/posts/147737298/palmitoylethanolamide-luteolin-kind-of-interesting But sometimes I bury the lead. I normally stay away from eurekalert.org (I'm not sure why. I guess I thought it was some advertising site

What things have you changed or modified in life to get through it all more simply or easily?
I’ve stopped fighting difficult things to help get through all this as the patient (F65 living alone). I find workarounds or sometimes find a completely different method to tackle problems. I now use washable pee pads at night with an adult diaper so I don’t wake up to go. It’s not something everyone

Thank you to Dr. Jonathan Sackner-Bernstein for his excellent, thought-provoking presentation yesterday titled "What if I discovered the Silver Bullet?" Motivated by a friend’s suffering from Parkinson’s, Dr. Sackner-Bernstein focused on a gap in our understanding of the disease: no one had so far measured

Nuchido Laboratories claims a HUGE increase in NAD+
I've been looking at all of the many, many approaches that have been tried in order to increase NAD+. Niaicin, Niacinamide, NR, NMN are a few. The reasons why NAD+ is important are too numerous to list. If you need just one reason, NAD+ is how the energy we bring in (food) becomes energy that our cells
