Good meds for bone pain w. metastatic PCa.
Need pain med advice. GP Doc finally put me on Percocet -- which is way too weak to do much good. Have bone mets for almost 2 years from femurs to neck, and sometimes excruciating pain. Starting Hospice soon as my MO discharged me. (Have Braca 2 gene, and last med -- Lynparza -- lost its effectiveness

End of my tether with RLS
Hi all! Here I am again, needing support and advice! I have such a long RLS history that it's difficult to put this in a nutshell, but this is my present situation: since moving house last year I had to change my GP which was unfortunate, as I had been lucky enough to have a GP who was both knowledgeable

RLS TREATMENT: Every day I read questions and answers on this forum and I would like to share with you some of my concerns
about the replies given to the many RLS sufferers who are struggling with their medication. All medications, if you read the leaflets, have side-effects and complications and at the end of the day, we have to weigh up which ones are going to be effective for each of us individually. 1.Dopamine Agonists

Pregabalin and opioid issues?
I take 225 mg Pregabalin for PLMD. I am now having a horrific Crohn's flare and need some pain relief badly. I just took one 15 mg Oxycontin ER which I hope helps but may not be strong enough. I have Tramadol HCL 100 mg tabs, Oxycodone HCL 5 mg tablets that didn't help my PLMD but may help with pain

Phantom Pain
I had never heard of phantom pain before my BKA (below knee amputation). But boy I know about it now! Talking to fellow amputees at the Limb Fitting Centre and Amputee Physio I seem to be suffering particularly badly compared to many. It's now nearly five months since the amputation and although I suffer

My problem although 24/7 is mainly at night time when my feet just will not stop fizzing and are permanently cold no matter how I try to warm them, consequently my nights are totally

Weight Bearing on Prothesis
Some of you will know I had a BKA (below knee amputation) at the end of July. I picked up my prosthetic leg in mid-October but immediately hit problems with the wound reopening and blistering. After seven weeks without physio I started weekly sessions last week. One major problem I have is that I cannot

How do you experience pain?
Rather than simply asking "does anybody else experience this?", I thought it'd be more interesting to open the question up and ask everybody to describe how you experience pain if you're inclined. The reason I ask is I'm always flummoxed at the oncology office when they ask me about pain and want me

Article from John-Hopkins regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS
No question, I just wanted to post some of an article regaurding the effects of opiates on RLS (the full text can be found on John Hopkins university website. Dr. Willis (as in Willis-Ekbomb disease / RLS) in his description of this disease in 1685 also reported on the benefits of opiates for treating

High alkaline phosphatase
I was mostly quite pleased with my blood results today and I don't need a transfusion this week. However, my liver function is not so great with the alkaline phosphatase having increased to 375 after going down at my last blood test. It was one of the haematology nurses that told me and when I was concerned

My three monthly scan report
Hello to all you wonderful people. I haven’t be as active anywhere lately, and there’s a lag in my reporting my results from last Friday to you all here, because I have either been in too much pain, just too busy, or not at all busy, but totally lack lustre and can’t find the interest to be able to do

Bowel flare up
Hi everyone. It's 3am here in Australia and, after 3.5 hours of laying in bed in pain, I've given up! Currently washing down oxycodone with tea and benefibre in anticipation of narcotic induced constipation... The joys of being so desperate you'll take anything! Things had been going well this week

Levothyroxine and Oxycodone
Hi has anyone taken both the above drugs without any interactions. Waiting on a hips replacement and the leaflet in the Oxycodone says do not take if you have a thyroid problem. Doctor has prescribed though.

Buprenorphine 12 month update and the glitch
Hi Everyone As many of you know 12 months I left my hospital bed in Brisbane Australia and flew to New York I was on the edge of life from this disgusting Wretched Disease. I’d lost 15 kilos , my blood pressure was not under control, and I was in agony . Abuse is how I would describe the treatment

Query re changing from Oxycodone liquid to Buprenorphine to curb RLS
Morning everybody 😉 I have been taking 30mls Oxy daily for two years now and have been hugely greatfull to my GP for prescribing it. As some may remember from past posts, I developed refactory RL and Augmentation. It was with me 24 hours a day and in my arms too. Without wanting to sound melodramatic

Hi brave people, I have just joined this forum and sympathise with those that can't get some relief. The blood to my brain was blocked off on one side for a few hours 12 years ago (Carotid Artery dissection) then 2 years later had meningitis, so my poor brain has had a bit of a bashing. I never had

Oxycodone and RLS
I have just started on Targiniq (oxycodone) for my terrible RLS. I'm also on pramipexole but the neurologist added Targiniq because I only sleep about 2-3 hours. I took 5 mg. Targiniq last night and got tired, but I could not go to sleep. I got a terrible headache and less sleep than I usually get. I

Anyone tried Claritin for pain?
A week or so ago I posted about knee and wrist pain with MF. The pain in my knees has got worse and often now sort of radiates to my thighs and shins. I did some googling (though I never google the scary stuff about MF!) and found some suggestion that Claritin (the antihistamine Loratadine) might be
