Anyone tried Claritin for pain?

A week or so ago I posted about knee and wrist pain with MF. The pain in my knees has got worse and often now sort of radiates to my thighs and shins. I did some googling (though I never google the scary stuff about MF!) and found some suggestion that Claritin (the antihistamine Loratadine) might be helpful for such pain, as well as it's usual purpose. Has anyone tried it? Or has anyone found an answer to MF pain. I do have some Oxycodone left over from my stay in hospital but I don't want to take anything I might get addicted to, except in occasional emergencies. I'm still not sure if it's bone pain but it's got pretty bad. TIA, Jennie

Hmm...I'm gonna try this! It looks like Zyrtec also works for some people.

My hematologists recommend Claritin for bone pain.

I’ve never heard of this, I take one / two a day but because I have a naturally very high histamine level. Despite this I do still get bone pain particularly in my left shin ?!

Don't know about the MF pain, but Claritin works great for allergies - with no side effects. In consultation with your doc, it seems like a safe thing to try. My worst chronic pain comes from osteoarthritis. I found that Curcumin works better for this than any NSAID or Lyrica. I have no idea whether Curcumin would help with the MF pain, but it is an effective anti-inflammatory agent when taken in a bioavailable form.
