Tetanus booster while on prednisone?
Has anyone had the tetanus booster (I'm due for a 10-year one) while on prednisone? Am I correct in understanding that we should not have "live" vaccines? And I can't find any information that mentions if it's live or not. Thank you so much for any insights!

Shingles jab
I may be the last person to know this, but.......having been told to avoid the shingles jab as it contained a live virus, I've just been told that the NHS no longer use live virus vaccines, so it's safe for MPN patients. I have now had my first shotđ

Shingles vaccine?
I unknowingly (until after) had shingles in March 2023 which I believe, triggered first episode of Afib. Now thinking about having the vaccine, concerned that it will trigger Afib. What are people's experiences of having the vaccine? Do I need it yet. Maybe still have antibodies in my system? Will

GCA flare
Diagnosed April 2018 with PMR. Three months later GCA. I am currently on 3mgs prednisolone. Over the last two days have scalp pain on right side only ⊠no jaw pain. It feels a bit like I am getting a cold sore but no cold sore showing up. Could it be a GCA flare? Thank you to everyone who replies.

I started having a fibs in 2007 after having Lyme disease and also possibly too much thyroid medication. Iâve managed it all these years and after I turned 65 2 1/2 years ago, the doctor started pressuring me to go on blood thinner because of stroke risk. my score is only a two and itâs a gray area for

Immunocompromised people aged 50+ are now eligible for the shingles vaccine
Immunocompromised people aged 50 and over are now eligible for the shingles vaccine. The vaccine reduces your chances of getting shingles and reduces the risk of complications if you still develop it. Read more on our website, including answers to some commonly asked questions, here: https://www.lupusuk.org.uk

Out of Remission
Well, I got some not so good news today. I had my CLL check today and I'm out of remission. My WBC is now 14K. My platelets are 152. My doctor wants to start me on Zanabrutinib now. I know it seems silly when just getting out of remission and I'm not even close to a WBC of 30K yet, and I have no other

Lyme Disease
Hello, I hope everyone is feeling as well as possible. Can I ask about links between Lyme Disease and RA? What is actually known? My daughter was talking about ticks the other day (we are both walkers) when I said I had had (in my late teens) a bullseye mark from a tick on my leg, she said âwell that

Shingles vaccine
Just seen the BBC news health website. Shingles vaccines being offered to over 65âs ( was 70) and, even better, to vulnerable immune suppressed people over 55 from September 2023.

CELLULITIS
Has anyone had cellulitis? I have had it for just over a week and have just completed a 7 day course of Flucloxacillin. I did not see a doctor - just had to post a photo of my leg, so haven't had the opportunity of discussing it with him. From the web it sounds quite serious, but don't like taking

Jaw and Shoulder Pain
Did anyone have jaw and/or shoulder pain that was eventually relieved once they found their sweetspot? I am 24 days on 100mcg T4 and 5mcg T3. I have the jaw and shoulder pain, plus still very tired. I think the brain fog is somewhat better. It is hard to sort out brain fog and fatigue at times. I can
