Hi recently diagnosed with
osteopenia
Has anyone else got this condition under control and managed to keep it from progressing to osteoporosis through exercise and diet?

She said no that the X-rays and MRI indicated I just had
osteopenia
which is normal for my age. Fast forward a year later to my appt with my rheumatologist. He suggested I get my first bone density scan and some X-rays take.

A Different View on Bone Protection
Are used as treatments for
osteopenia
/osteoporosis as shown on a DEXA scan. But they also have been shown to reduce those adverse “skeletal related events” in APC.

My doctor told me I just had
osteopenia
and disregarded my concerns. My rheumatologist ordered a bone density scan a week ago and I have osteoporosis. I also have a compression fracture in spine. I’m looking for hope about being active and excising with spinal fracture.

Between a rock and a hard place :-(
(T scores = total spine -2.4, hip score -1.2, femoral neck-1.3) I was told I was within the
osteopenia
range and given D3 for ongoing bone protection. I was diagnosed in April 2021 with ‘post COVID PMR’ and put on 15mg Prednisolone.

So conclusion is osteoporosis in left femoral neck and

33% radius t score 4.5
I was wondering why only one of the t scores shows osteoporosis, and the others
osteopenia
? Can what happened to his left forearm years ago be the culprit? Thank you so very much

My Story
She did a bone density test: findings were osteoporosis in my neck, and
osteopenia
in my spine, hips normal. She wants me to take anti-osteoporosis drugs (which I do not intend to do at this point, after researching) and wants me off the prednisone.

vitamin advice
I was diagnosed with
osteopenia
following a DEXA scan. I don’t want to take Alendronic acid and my GP agreed with me taking vitamin D3 + K2 mk7 and magnesium glycinate and to have a further DEXA scan in three years. I’ve also added calcium.

New to the group
At present, I have
osteopenia
and take calcium pills and Vit. D. I was diagnosed recently, after taking calcium for many years, so that's concerning. I can't stand milk or yogurt, but I eat cheese, and try to have vegetables high in calcium.

Low bone density due to high levels of natural fluoride in drinking well water?
I am apparently just short of
osteopenia
She has prescribed alendronic acid , calcium carbonate /vit D which I am happy with. I grew up in the suburbs of Montreal age 2 to 13 in the 50's where our drinking water supply was from a well (civilised electric pump!)

Drugs or no drugs
What is best for
osteopenia
to prevent osteoporosis? I'm getting a Whole body vibration machine in hopes it will help. I also walk and exercise. Has anyone tried WBV and has it helped. I'm currently on prolix, but would like to stop as it's been 2 years. Any suggestions?

Bio-Identical Estrogen Safety
I have
osteopenia
and I'm post menopausal. At the age of 64, is it safe for me to take bio-identical hormones for my bones? I have been without synthetic HRT for about two years and my bones are falling apart. Are there any studies on bio-identical HRT?

Xgevia for osteopenia?
So, I am recently diagnosed with stage IVb; largest mets are L shoulder blade and posterior 9th rib. Smaller in 3 other ribs and ischium. On DEXA, only femur neck numbers were low, -1.1 and -1.6. Dr. put in for Prolia, twice yearly. Insurance will only cover for Xgevia, 4 X a year. Wondering if that's
