Hypertensive limit for diabetics
I am diabetic and I found that, my BP is highly fluctuating from 115/70 to sometimes 147/ 93. I am using digital instrument for my BP measurements. I want to know from this noble forum that how reference BP should be taken for knowing the actual BP and at what BP level, medication is advised. My HbA1C

Light Headed-High Blood Pressure?
Is light headedness a sign of high blood pressure? I am currently getting readings of 148-151/92 and have just started the monitoring process. Last year it averaged out at the desired figure so no action taken but now I think I will be needing bp tablets-anyone know of ones with minimal side effects

Has anyone used these? There is a advertisement Currently on fb but supplier is in US. I have been diagnosed with High blood pressure but have problems taking oral medication as I get bad skin reaction, like Lichen Planus, and feel it might be a better to use a patch instead. Lasbrisas

Back again....the saga continues on.....
Hello all! Hope you are having a lovely summer. After getting back from trip - I needed a break from my health problems. I have tapered down from 50mg pred to 40mg. Doing ok. Well today at work I broke a tooth. I went to the dentist - they can do a crown tomorrow. I told them I was on prednisone but

Control Issues
Hey y’all. I am new to the forum but not to diabetes. I am 54 years old and have had diabetes since I was eight years old. So of course I am insulin dependent and always will be. I have had issues with my blood pressure on and off. It’s pretty good. But I have CKD stage III and they want it tighter

Protein in urine
Hi everyone. I’ve seen many posts on this forum over the last few months about raised protein in the urine. I would urge anyone who gets this to persevere with their nephrologist to ensure they determine the exact cause. The reason I say this is because I’ve recently been diagnosed with a very serious

My cystatin c result was 1.13 and most recent egfr was 49. Protein in urine: 2+. 72 yo female, no diabetes or hypertension. Appt. with nephrologist in two week. Paroxetine aka Paxil - Last Chance Saloon......
After an almost 3 HOUR (!) appointment with my psychiatrist yesterday after my GP wrote to him saying that he had grave concerns about my suicidal ideation, it has now been agreed that I will start Paroxetine at a low dose. I now also have a further tweak to my diagnosis - adding in Briquet's Syndrome

Portal hypertension and pregnancy, anyone else able to share their experiences?
I'd love to hear from anyone who had managed a pregnancy with history of portal hypertension (esophageal varices). I've had a lot of negativity from my obstetrician, but my gastroenterologist is quite positive. I'm finding it hard to find anyone who has experienced similar? For context, my portal hypertension

Interesting research: lupus and a new probiotic
Hello everyone, I found this abstract very interesting: https://www.fasebj.org/doi/abs/10.1096/fj.201900545RR The experiment involved mice, not humans, but it looks promising for us, too. Reading around, I found that this bacteria can occur in naturally fermented sauerkraut. It is now available as

Can Alzheimer’s Dementia Drugs Help With IPF ... Drug repurposing in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis classes
Furthermore, our analysis concluded to drugs (Table 2) that provide strong connection with IPF since they have been discovered by at least two out of three drug repurposing tools, with a given inhibiting score less than −0.5 against IPF.
