I was just curious to see how many members had issues with their gallbladder? I know of two friends who have had kidney transplants and they both had their gallbladder removed previously. I myself had my gallbladder removed the same year I was diagnosed with kidney disease. I suffered with gallbladder attacks for a number of years before that. I was chatting to a few of my fellow dialysis patients the other day. Most of them had issues with their gallbladders. Most of the women about 5 of them, also had theirs removed. That was just the ones I spoke to!! Just wondering if this applied to any members?

Interesting if there is a connection. I had mine gallbladder removed.
Here is an article from PubMed that says:“The risk of gallbladder stone formation is increased in patients with predialysis chronic kidney disease but not those undergoing chronic hemodialysis therapy”
I'm stage 4 and knock on wood have had no gallbladder issues.
I had a kidney transplant 22+ years ago. I had my gallbladder removed in 2020.
Stage 5, not on dialysis yet, still have mine. No known issues.
Yes - CKD diagnosed the year after my gallbladder removed
Stage 5 here, still have gallbladder, no problems
Hello Ziggy, I had my gallbladder removed a few years ago and have been diagnosed with stageb3b kidney disease. I actually had chronic kidney disease for years before that, but also had the covid and it seems my kidney function dropped after that as well. I'm new to this forum and have been reading posts for a while now and thought I would contribute some information as well. I find this forum very helpful. Thanks.
I had my gallbladder removed in 1999 and was diagnosed earlier this year with kidney disease.
Thanks to everyone that has commented 😁😁😁.
Interesting question so thanks.I’ve had GB issues for last few yrs and have now been told the mri checking my gB picked up a 1.8 cm tumour in my kidney.
I am sorry to hear that dublin1717. Is it an actual tumour or a cyst. I hear kidney cysts are quite common. Wishing you all the best. Keep us up to date regarding your situation x
Thank you Zig 💚
