New liver, new personality/memories?
I've heard of people having organ transplants and they take on some of the donors personality or memories. Also a man who took up boxing who was before a whimp yet only to find out the doner was a keen boxer. Has this or similar happened to you?

Have you, or has someone you know, had a lung transplant?
Hello, I’ve been contacted by the NHS Blood and Transplant service with a request for help. They are exploring ways of helping people to make decisions about the risks associated with organ transplants. They would like to get the views of as many people as possible. This includes people who may need

Beta cells die off in peoples whose fasting blood sugar is over 110mg/dl(6.1mmol/L
An intriguing study shows the severe
organ
damage
experienced by peoples whose blood sugar falls in to range most Doctors consider to be normal.A team of researchers autopsied the pancreases of deceased patients who were known to have had fasting blood sugars that tested between 110mg/dl and 125mg/dl

18 months on - fear of dying young
It's been almost 18 months since I was critically ill and physically I have recovered amazing well. I do everything I used to and can look after my young family. My cardiac function was mildly impaired, my kidneys haven't quite got back to normal and I have a lot of scarring but I am managing just fine

Leaving benefits for college
I have Lupus, Sjogrens, Fibromyalgia and some
organ
damage
. I went for an interview at the college and was accepted. I am obviously a little nervous about going off benefits and starting a 3 year course.

No major
organ
damage
but the fatigue, aches and pains, I get numbness/tingling, balance problems and my memory is just awful! This all flares up and calms down - but my quality of life has changed drastically - in ONE year !

Have been unwell for past 18 months with fatigue, weight loss, anemia, joint and muscle pain. For the past 8 months I have had headaches,
I was told there that they couldn't say if it was or wasn't vasculitis and because I have no end
organ
damage
I was in a wait and see category. My symptoms were starting to settle with the MTX although I noticed I was becoming symptomatic again 2 days before the MTX was due.

Amazingly there were no other broken bones and no spinal or
organ
damage
. He just had a bump and scrape on his temple and a few bruises. We were told that his brain scan showed no damage but they couldn't be sure.

How serious can oxygen saturation below 90 be?
Best wishes to you all with this awful lung condition, Tony :-) Reply:-And side note to Tony....pacing yourself will not stop
organ
damage
. You're right, don't stop exercising...but use supplemental oxygen while you're exercising so your saturation level never falls below 90.

3-D Lungs?
Australian scientists say they have found a way to grow human body parts using 3D printing technology. The University of Wollongong's Centre for Electromaterials Science is opening a research unit at Melbourne's St Vincent's Hospital where 3D printing will be used to reproduce tissue material.
