Thought for the Day - raising our profile
I’m hoping to reinforce with more from Shumbah who seems to be the worlds RLS expert in
opiates
. I suppose it’s understandable that doctors get defensive when faced with something they know little about. If you go in armed with loads of information they might think they’re getting ambushed.

Buprenorphine for pain (Temgesic) 400mcg
Hi again just to add to my last post, has anybody been prescribed these these for pain and if so how did you get on with them?. GP just prescribed them and they are an opiate based painkiller, so very scared to take them, any feedback would be great. Thankyou for reading

My life is done...
I live with the pain daily and the only way to deal with the pain is to rely on
opiates
. I’m not prepared to keep upping the dosage. My bones are too weak for surgery. I’m 64 but feel 84. My life is over. I can’t go on with this never ending pain. Life is a bitch then you die. 😢

How did my dad get so sick so fast? Treatment emergent metastatic small cell cancer of the prostate.
I can't tell if he is slightly worse again, as he was given
opiates
for pain throughout his trunk earlier in the day. I suppose the fact that he was conscious despite that was a good sign. Maybe he's bottomed out. Somehow, he is in good spirits, or at least putting on a good show for us.

Lomotil works better for me
Loperamide has not worked for me at all but my problems have been episodic, not chronic. Lomotil stops it dead in less than a day but is, of course, and opiate requiring a prescription in the US.

what isthmus usual maintenance dose of the Neupro patch?
So far, the only thing that has absolutely worked is Oxycodone and the medics are not happy with anyone taking
opiates
long term. I have always kept on the same dose and not kept increasing- definitely not an addict!

18 years with metastatic prostate cancer – operation number three, but no good news for me – the end game begins.
(I’ve had this issue after every operation, and it’s only stopped once I’ve managed to ween myself off the
opiates
).

RLS for 15 years. Now I avoid dairy and have eliminated RLS/ Periodic Limb Movement
They all made me feel groggy or nauseous or light headed, especially the
opiates
. I never felt confident driving a car in the morning as I always felt I was not alert enough and it was a danger for my two small children to be in my care.

I find the side effects of
opiates
"tiredness" so disabling and the long term use means they are becoming ineffective. There are numerous other negative effects caused by
Opiates
. I have tried some of the Neuropathic I,e. Amitriptyline but they don,t agree with me.

Back after several months off being off due to NY pandemic - targeted radiation of lower spine five days for 4-7 weeks?
I got very very depressed watching the high numbers of people in NY dying every day and had to step off. I thought all of us would die in NY. Self-quarantined for three weeks. Although we (NY) are doing better, we still cannot go in stores without a mask, can't walk around in my own building without

Answer to query about tramadol
I have been on tramadol for a number of years and after taking everything in the universe to counteract RLS this is the only thing which is effective for me. It does however keep me awake which is strange it being a synthetic opiate I have had the horrible condition since I was 10 years old and am now

So I am back onto my
Opiates
again until the pain goes. The problem is at sixty nine falling can be really bad with age and breaking bones bruising or bleeding can take a long time to get better. We become frightened of falling again and loose our confidence when bending, lifting and gardening.
