Thanks to all of you for your helpfull comments. I am 74 years old and I live in Spain. I have osteoporosis and in May I cracked 2 ribs and got a crushed vertebrae, too. In July, as a birthday present to myself, I fell hard on my tiled floor and hurt the bone in the region of my buttock. I am not being deliberately vague, but I find it hard to follow Spanish when it is technical or medical, I have to take a translator with me to see the bone guy at the hospital. Anyway, apart from being on the opiate Palexia for the pain, I am on a weekly tablet, a bisphonate which is similar to Fosamax. However, the specialist is switching me to Forsteo, the 2 year jab you have been discussing. I will get free on the national health service here, (thank goodness). Maybe I misunderstood something that was posted, but did someone say that when the 2 year course of jabs is done, you have to have some kind of treatment 6 months later as a follow-up?

I had to discontinue taking fosamax because I developed a rash and dizziness and nausea. I am taking only natural supplements including calcium and magnesium now and exercising. Balance is all-important - so work on balance exercises to keep from falling and good luck.
