Crunchy feet?
Just when I said I only hobbled, bought some lovely/comfy shoes and I wake up the next day with crunchy/sore/swollen feet. I am waiting to see about it but I have a couple of questions... Does this mean the likelyhood of permanent damage? When I pick up baby especially in the morning it really hurts

Updates and downsides
Just to bring you up to date with the saga of the rotator cuff and pain in the shin bone. Had the scan on Tuesday - results to GP by Wednesday who gave me a copy of the scan results which confirmed what I had said for a long time - something was tearing in the shoulder. There is a large full thickness

Forgot to have the enbrel on Thursday as working and very busy. So had to have it yesterday (Friday). Also during the day, bloods taken from left arm (looked quite good but not blue enough lol!) and Vit B12 in the right arm. I sat there with our lovely practice sister, and me going ooh, ah, ooh ah

Has anyone been taken off methatrexate because they were doing well on an anti-tnf?
Hello, after 9 weeks on enbrel and 15mg of MXT, I am doing very well, my consultant mentioned as I was leaving that in 3 months he will review and start to lower dose if things keep improving, this is great news as you'll all understand the horrors of this meds. I just wondered if it was possible that

I get terrible Itching on my back, to the point I scratch the skin raw. Is this related to anti tnf treatments or pain killers?
I have Ankylosing Spondylitis and was on Humira and Methotrexate injections but due to raised liver function tests they stopped the Methotrexate and changed the Humira to Enbrel. Enbrel was okay at first (started in January) but now I have niggley problems creeping in.

Did enbrel make anyone else cry?!
Hi Everyone. I gave myself my third Enbrel jab on Monday and couldn't stop crying for a day or two. Really emotional. It has had made no improvement as yet and in fact joints have been worse. Has anyone else experienced the blues on Enbrel? Nurse is coming again on Monday so will talk to her. i

Wine Effects
Hd 2/3 glasses of wine at a dinner on Thursday (don't normally have more than half a glass) and have suffered ever since. I don't think there is a joint or muscle that doesn't hurt. Had MTX on Wednesday and Enbrel on thursday. Can anyone tell me if there is a connection? LavendarLady

Crossing the Line
Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Week One, Day One. Today I took my first methotrexate pill. (Why do they make the pills so small when most of the users don’t have the dexterity to pick it up?!?) Today I injected my first shot of Enbrel. I’ve crossed some sort of line into the reality of

Ordinary Miracles
I've been quiet for a while as I let the methotrexate and enbrel soak in, and knock on wood, it's doing wonders!! It's only been a month, and I am feeling really good. I am also weaning off the predisone (I swear it makes me crankier than usual). Coming off the predisone has left my hands a bit sore.

Aggressive Targeted B cell Approach to RA
As some of you may know I have been trying to understand why my consultant has deviated from standard NICE prescibing guidelines for RA and missed out Anti TNF and gone straight for Mabthira biologic treatment. Last night I stayed up really late searching the web. ( when my consultant mentioned Mabthira

Pain in shins - is it related to RA or fibromalgia?
Have had RA for 8 years and fibromyalgia for 6 years. Take Enbrel and hydroxicloriquin. Fairly frequently get sharp pains in both shins, particularly when lying down. No one seems to be able to tell me why, but have noticed other questions here about shin pain. Anyone got any ideas if this is linked

Rheumatology ... ... DIY?
The call came!! I could hardly believe it... my rheumatologist on the other end of my phone on a Monday afternoon. Do you suppose she’d got wind of the fact I might be considering a second opinion? Anyway up, she was ringing to update me on two main issues but had waited to see if the increase in

Today I am absolutely positive!
Well, what a turnround! Not sure whether to be shocked or whether I should actually have seen it coming. I suppose I just accept the inevitable as yet another unexpected change along the path of the Rheumatoid journey. I was diagnosed with sero-negative RA 23 years ago, aged 31; the Rheumatoid Factor

Onward and upward?
Sulfasalazine, Methotrexate and Plaquenil give me severe allergic reactions. Leflunomide holds the disease back but doesn't stop it from spreading so two weeks ago I discussed anti TNFs with my consultant. I researched both Enbrel and Humira but to be honest I just don't want to move up the chain so

The Sun Factor
Both my GP & consultant have told me that fair weather has no effect on arthritis whatsoever, and there is no research to suggest otherwise. I'd agree to a lot of this, however! Just got back from Malta & my knees and feet seemed to love the sun! Had enbrel as soon as I got back (just as I was feeling

Hi I keep wondering to myself will I ever get anywere near a better life than Ive been lumbered with since RA. Good (ish) days are very few and far between and when I get a good day (I know I shouldnt) but I always make the most off it and end up suffering for days. Yesterday was a good day so my better
