please can anyone help with how to manage the excruciating pain with endo?
I'm currently prescribed mefenamic acid (250mg tabs) and cocodamol (30/500mg tabs) but the gp said there is nothing else. They barely touch the sides and I'm in complete agony. Does anyone have any ideas/help that they could please offer me? I have a heat pad constantly attached to my tummy but even

Back after a long time
Hi everyone, I haven't posted in quite some time, but I'm back because I need input from all the wonderful people on this platform. More than five years ago, my mom had a fall and was put on hospice care. They gave up on us too quickly, and she ended up with an NG tube down her throat for months

Tips for Circumcision
These are just some handy tips from what I have been through and I thought to share them as many have helped me and gave me advice. It’s a long read but hopefully it’s helpful. There can be a lot of uncertainty and impatience over the first 10 days or so but it’s really helpful to find someone to talk

zoledronic acid infusion
I had my second infusion of zoledronic acid on the 25th April and I must say it seems to be helping I am not getting as much back pain, I know that they don't know exactly when to stop it because it begins to make bones brittle after a time, and then it looks like prolia which seems dodgy,

Hot flushes
Hello I’m on week 4 of daily pred (20mg), 30mg lanzaprozole, 70mg alendronic acid (weekly not daily). I’ve suddenly started having horrendous hot flushes - mainly at night but yesterday evening had a horrible sweaty and ill feeling 30 mins. Very reminiscent of my early menopause days pre HRT. I have

Neuropathy fatty liver
Hi, I have fatty liver with minimal scarring. For last 6 years both my big toes have been numb from neuropathy. Recently I have started getting numbness in my thumbs and thighs. Has anyone else had such problems and what to do about it? My Dr prescribed 300mg gabapentin 2 times a day but doesn't really

How is PMR diagnosed?
At the end of January after starting on a weekly alendronate, I began having stiffness in legs and shoulder / arm pain. I couldn't get up from an arm chair and sleeping was disrupted by pain and trips to the bathroom because I was taking various pain meds. My doctor thought it was arthritis but did

Blood Tests to show if Calcium is being absorbed into the bones and not elsewhere....
Does anyone know if there's blood test than can tell if the calcium supplements are in fact going to the right place ( the bones) and not being absorbed into the bloodstream, if so what's it called? I have been diagnosed, via the DEXA scan, with severe osteoporosis, but I don't understand the explanation

Persistent UTI's, appears only with sexual activity without protection
History of urinary tract infection I have had this infection for 3 years, Escherichia coli always comes out in the urine culture, except for one time when Proteus came out. For treatment I have used ciprofloxacin, amikacin, nitrofurantoin, levofloxacin (but there was resistance to it), Amoxicillin

Can I Reduce The Symptoms of ADHD Taking These Supplements?
Hi everyone, I am diagnosed with ADHD last week. My psychiatrist prescribed me Strattera (Atomoxetine). I have heart arryhtmia and learned that it is not recommended to use Straterra if you have heart arryhtmia. Also I learned that sudden deaths and stroke have been reported in adults taking atomoxetine

Alendronic Acid
Hi I have been getting heartburn after taking Alendronic Acid recently. Am on weekly dose. Have been taking for 3 months. My Dexa scan came back normal and the Rheumy says to stay on until Prednisolone stops which would be at least next March. I want to stop now as would rather risk fractures

Advice on P1NP test please....
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis of the spine 2 years ago and have (after lots of deliberation) agreed I should start taking alendronic acid. I also have hypothyroidism and when I saw my endocronologist (who happens to also be a osteoporosis specialist) he said I should get a P1NP marker test done before
