The Good, the Bad & the Ugly
Good: Travelled to Humberside to see my great-grandson (Jaxon) in person (3 weeks old now). Went back to hotel just before the main snow arrived and cut off the village. Bad: Roads all blocked on Wednesday so confined to hotel room (Aah!! Stir crazy!!). Slipped in bath (support rails in Accessible Room

Champix: A hero in violent dreams
Hello fellow quitters, So I'm onto about day 18 of Champix and up until now haven't had any side effects (aside from not smoking!) but for the past two nights I have had dreams where really really awful things happen. It's not wholely traumatic as these things happen to other people and I come in to

So today I went back to work and I had a really sore stomach, like a tightness and bloated feeling. Towards the end of the day I got that feeling that you get when you need to go NOW. I got anxious and panicky because I didn’t think id get to the toilet on time. My cheeks went red and I got scared. Is

Stopping medication
Hello, I have been on senna and Celevac for years now, and still experience terrible bloating etc. I’ve thought to myself does what I take even help? And is it worth going cold turkey and trying stopping what medication I take all together??

Best stool softener to use
I haven’t had a bowel movement since Tuesday before I had my lap. I’m home with a catheter now but I know if I get constipated it’s bad for the catheter! As it can press on the tube and block it. Has anyone taken a stool softener and had success? I don’t want to strain on the loo, and I definitely

Denervation and epidural nerve root block
Hello all, I had the above procedure nearly 2 weeks ago. Had one good day but since then I feel exactly the same as if I never had anything done. The follow up is a phone call in 4 weeks from now so I am wondering if it could take up to 6 weeks to work?? Does anyone know, I only recall the nurse saying

High lactic acid ?
Hi all😊 Well I've landed in the hospital again ... Was here just 2 weeks ago with the same thing... lactic acidosis. Anyone else bothered by this? I'm feeling it may. Be a side effect of the 20 mg.s of prednisone that I've been taking daily since July 2017. This time my throat closed up and that was

Success with bed wetting alarm!
Hi, this is my first post, and i just wanted to say to people that may be looking for advice, that there is hope. I admit that I was somewhat daunted when reading the posts as the majority of the people posting seem to have faced real challenges with helping their children to achieve night time continence

Daytime wetting in 4yo girl
Our health visitor has referred us to our enuresis clinic, but I was wondering if there was anything I can do while we wait (3 months...)? A bit of background - When my daughter was 18 months old, I noticed that she was waking up dry every morning, so I started putting the potty out and taking

Less senses - any remedies?
Trying not to make this rant too negative but it feels like my head injury has taken away every sensual aspect of my life and I feel less of a person. From hearing and seeing fully to sense of touch, smell and taste. It all feels numbed and it's difficult to remain happy like this. I keep on making

8 year old deep sleeper & bed wetter
I've just joined here as I've got nowhere else to turn. Our 8 year old son has never been dry at night since he was born. We've had the occasional dry pull up on holiday but that's because we never went to bed until 1am and he was up at 8am! He goes to bed around 8.30pm and sleeps until I wake him at

The nightshift
Well I was just intending to post a quick message to say hi to anyone who can't sleep - it feels very lonely in the night sometimes and the night lasts such a long time at this time of year. I'm about to try to settles down and get my usual 3/5 hours. I'm exhausted (aren't we all?) , so I typed the title

Any medication/symptom advice?
Hi all, I had an head injury over a year ago (head first down 15 stone stairs) not the best end to a party 😂 Anyway fortunately I didn’t do any damage but I was diagnosed with Post Concussion Syndrome. I’m doing so much better (the first three months I found it hard to even work out how to make a cuppa

Going for sinus op on Wednesday
This Wednesday I'm going in for my sinus operations, it's a FESS (draining of the mucus) a septoplasty (straightening my septum) which is apparently very misshaped inside and a CIT (burning out inflammation). For 2 weeks I'll be terribly blocked but then I should start to feel better after that, I've

Significant other has cognitive issues from coma 50 years ago
Although I've known about his coma since I met him 7 years ago, it didn't become clear how impaired he is until we made a geographical move and he had to work at a new job in his career. He was fired a year later and from many other jobs after that. All he can do is work in retail now which only pays

Post TBI Problems
Hello, I had a severe head injury around 20 years ago when I was 5 years old. A depressed skull fracture where a piece of my skull pierced my brain. This led to a bleed on my brain which required surgery. I was fine after about 6 months and growing up I’ve never had any major issues other than getting

Hey :)
Hello, This is my first post to the site. I do read the daily posts from a quiet distance and find it comforting having a familiar subject of discussion. For the past few years I have been told I have Fibromyalgia. I have been prescribed a whole host of medication and sometimes am not wholly sure what
