Alternatives for NSAIDs -Pain Relief
The doctors I have seen have said that
NSAIDS
would be best for treating this which I can't take so have been on co-codamol for this time. This is now causing problems with my stomach and could also be contributing to my headache according to the doctor.

Fibromyalgia and chronic widespread pain in autoimmune thyroid disease
We have seen much controversy among many people - both within and between groups of patients and medics - about pain, fibromyalgia and autoimmune thyroid disease. Denial of a link between thyroid and pain seems to be a common feature. So it is interesting to see this strong, unequivocal statement in

CKD3a
Turned out mine has probably been caused by excessive
NSAIDS
taken over a long period of time. The consultant was very nice, told me not to stress about it as it was considered 'mild' in their eyes and just to eat healthily. No special diet mentioned.

New research : News type of NSAIds
It was brought to my attention there has been a total new development on NAIDS. An article appeared in Australia in which was mentioned a masking medication, making organs invisible to the immune system protecting them from anti bodies. I have not found the article yet. Has anyone read it and if so can

Common painkillers could decrease skin cancer risk
The meta-analysis was unable to pinpoint the ideal dosage or duration of use for

Freaking out about HIV!!
Hi, this is not something I ever thought I'd be asking but I really need help. About 2 weeks ago I ended up at a party, I was drinking and remember virtually nothing (think I had my drink spiked because this is so unlike me) but I keep having flash backs of him starting to have sex with me (I don't know

A word of caution about stopping Omeprazole if you take NSAIDs
Having read several times that Omeprazole affected the absorption of thyroid medication, I stopped it some weeks ago. After a while, I started getting breathless with burning pains across my back and down the centre of my front, at first intermittent and then all the time. I felt awful and even thought

Stomach ulcers
Every site I look at says that ulcers are caused by only two things - H pylori (for which I tested negative) or taking
NSAIDs
(which I have never taken since being diagnosed with PBC in December 2010). So this is leading me to worry what might be wrong with me.

Had RD 20 yrs. also PMR 1yr. Rheumy said RD in remission but in a lot of pain especially in morning.
I am currently on Prednisolone for the PMR and rheumy won't up it. I have just read about delay release Lodotra, has anyone been prescribed this and if so has it helped with the awful morning pain. Can hardly move. I can no longer take NSAID,s due to duodenal ulcer because of long term usage. My ESR

Inflammation and pain relief tips needed!
Afternoon all! Does anyone else have an issue with inflammation and pain where the ribs meet the spine and sternum? It's been driving me nuts for the past few months! Any hints on pain relief would be very welcome. I can't take NSAID's in any form, paracetamol doesn't seem to metabolise very well
