Nplate clots
Jazzbo77 I was wondering how many Itp suffers took
Nplate
but developed blood clots at 55-75k platelets? I did in Oct-Dec 2014 and the more shots I took the more the clots spread until my Dr stopped the
Nplate
. I found 4 others that had the same thing on
Nplate
and one on promacta.

Decision Time
The options are ether, Eltrombopag {Revolade Tablets} or
Nplate
{Romiplostim}. If you are or have tried either of these, I would be grateful if you would let me know what your experience is/was like. In particular I would like to know what the side-effects are/were. Thank you. Rafiq

Any Vancouverites / Canadians with ITP?
I also understand that
NPlate
and Revolade are not covered through universal healthcare so that'll require me to make some arrangements (but I think I can handle that)

Platelets & me
Then, I was given
Nplate
which had an immediate effect and my platelets shot up yo 450k, combined with a shock dose of corticosteroids (three days of high dosage). This worked for three weeks after which I was given another
Nplate
, this time without the shock dose and it only lasted about 10 days.

Too many decisions
I've had ITP for 3 years now, first started on preds, ivg, rixtimab, and
nplate
. N plate does work for me but currently trying for a baby and haematologist isn't being very helpful... Was started back on steroids 25mg once daily but count is currently 17.

Itp treatment
Now starting
nplate
. That have me 121k (I've also taken 25mg steroids during this time) My first question is does mode of treatment, steroids or
nplate
, effect the chance of getting better in this disease ?

Out of the woods with ITP (I think!)
I came back and I was under the care of this specialist, So for these nine years I had infusions,
nplate
, ivig and prednisone to keep my platelet count up but nothing worked and bleeding episodes, bruises and everything that came along with it and didn’t kept me in remission so flash forward nine years

Tamiflu - WORKING!!!!! :) :)
I have been using
nplate
for ITP for 2 years, giving myself weekly injections. I was sick with the flu last week. This made my numbers drop even with my weekly injection of
nplate
to 36,000. I took Tamiflu for 5 days to kick the flu and exactly a week later my count went from 36,000 to 280,000.

Cure ITP by homeopathic balancing of the immune system
This went on for 5 months of rollercoaster platelet counts of 1,000 to over a million(after
Nplate
) Every two weeks I was on IVIG and DEX bursts; it was a horrible cycle. I am around 160,000 to 190,000 platelet count for a while now and have had no IVIG or dex since 10/17.

ITP To Feel or not to feel...that is the question!
I had a severe allergic reaction, swollen, tongue, throat and face to the
NPLATE
beginning after I took it on October 2 and keeping me over a week. With blood pressure up to 219/113, scary stuff. They think I had a mini stroke.

Beginning Rituxin 4 weekly infusions on Friday. Very frustrated.
Hemo does not feel that
NPlate
would work because it is virtually the same as Promacta..just in an injectible form. I hate ITP.

Curious
So I'm wondering if you have to have a bone marrow biopsy before you try
nplate
? My platelets are at 26 and I'm going off steroids cause the platelets weren't increasing. How are the side effects with
nplate
?

I went on steroids then a chemo drug to which nothing helped - I had 3 ivig's which lasted for around 8/10 weeks then got put on
nplate
but with just a 250mg dose the platelets were still falling around 10 a week so now once every month I have a double dose (500mg) of
nplate
which boosts them up so now

Grateful but frustrated
I was in the hospital almost 64 days. We'll it's mid July 17 and they are adjusting
nplate
shots. I'm grateful to be here but frustrated with side effects. Ringing in the ears, hair loss and all the pounds I've gained. Please share your story. Thanks..God bless you all.
