Anyone have MDS too?
His platelets are 10 now and we will be doing
Nplate
next, if needed. But that's for ITP and we are doing it. So I'm confused and just wondering if anyone else was diagnosed with MDS with super low platelets. Anyone else in the same boat?

Nothing worked only
Nplate
. You're right,
Nplate
is given in "mcg" not mg, I am on 500 mcg per week to maintain my counts at 80K to 250K. The fluctuations are very high with the same dose from one week to another.I'm also nurse and i don't know if I could do the job!

Sudden ITP
At that time I was treated with 1 injection of
NPlate
and a drug called Rytuxin . Needless to say it didnt work very well , I was admitted back in the hospital because my platelets were at 4000 within 5 days. I was transferred to Ohio State University Medical Center in The James Hopital.

No symptoms! frustrating!!
Since then I've had the standard steroids but wanted off them quick so I've been having weekly blood tests and injections of
Nplate
as required. Levels really have been up and down had counts up in the 300's 2 weeks in a row then plummet. This weekend I had count of 15. But again, no symptoms!!

Just found this site and have already read so many posts that give me hope :)
They have tried the prednizone, which worked for a week then stopped, the
Nplate
shot, which didnt work and lastly the promacta which i have had some success with in the past until my ins said it wasnt "medically neccessary" now they are trying to get me "free drug" so i can get the meds that work.

Diet and excercise
But as my body really doesn't like steroids I'm going try
nplate
. I try not to worry about my itp to much, there is not much I can do about, it's the life I have now. But my question is....is there any exercise regime anyone does that helps, without tiring you too much?

Nplate
I haven't had my
Nplate
shot in two weeks. I'm starting to feel sluggish, developing Petechia spots, bruising and nose bleeds. My Dr and I are discussing making an appointment for a spleen scan at St. Barts in London. September will be my 2 year anniversary with ITP.

ITP – Need more options
I have tried, Prednisone, IVIG, Rituxan, MMF,
Nplate
and a few others I can't think of at the moment. The only drug that seems to work is
Nplate
although the weekly Dr visit are not fun. Without drugs my count is usually 4-17. My new goal is to get the splenectomy.

Our Dog has Chronic ITP
I recently stumbled upon a study of 5 dogs conducted in late 2014 and 2015 at a German university where the dogs successfully responded to treatment with romiplostim (
Nplate
). Any luck with this treatment or any advice on getting financial assistance through the manufacturer with this drug?

recently diagnosed with CLL
The doctor told me I had ITP and treated me for 10 months with steroids, IVIG, and
Nplate
shots. After 3 more hospitalizations, I changed doctors in November.

Fostamatinib Trials
I know they are a few more treatments I could have that have been around a while -
Nplate
and eltromobag but at the moment they do not think these are suitable for me as I do not bleed with my ITP just bruise heavily.

Is Nplate a recommended treatment
My consultant has now offered me a course of
Nplate
and I am asking you all for your advice on the success and failures of this treatment. I have looked on the net and the advice given is not consistent, with some awful side effects noted, which does give me worry.

ITP with low red counts.
I mentioned before steroid treatment started 3/20, have been on
NPlate
and Rituxan since and every week all my levels drop. I see some people have had delayed response and I hope that is my case. So are your red counts low?
