Chronic Liver Disease Post Transplant
Hi, I had a liver transplant in October 2017 and apart from a little set back right at the beginning, meaning I was in Addenbrookes for 5 weeks, I have been really well. I haven’t even had Covid! However a couple of months ago, I had a CT scan which showed that I have chronic liver disease. To say

some suggestions - PCa websites?
Hey all: As I’ve mentioned before, I’m doing a comic about this experience. I want to have a short section at the end with websites that are good for learning about prostate cancer. I have room for a few more, and am looking for suggestions. Not an exhaustive list, but hoping for a useful list: Thanks

nose bleed
was rushed to hospital 2weeks ago for pneumonia. Was discharged after a week. Wasn’t home 24 hrs. And out of the blue my nose started bleeding. It hasn’t stopped. Has this happened to anyone else and what did the doctors do to stop it?

1st transplant done in trial of Parkinson’s cell therapy ANPD001
This experimental therapy for Parkinson’s uses a type of stem cell called an induced pluripotent stem cell, or iPSC, which is able to generate nearly any type of cell in the body — including dopamine-producing neurons. Its manufacturing is a three-step process. https://parkinsonsnewstoday.com/news

When were you going to mention I had early CKD? Oh I see, stage II isn’t anything to worry my little head about 😠
As my profile name implies, I have spent 20+ years in the healthcare industry. It took longer than I’d like to admit to awakening to how broken, corrupted and frankly dangerous this “Healthcare Industrial Complex” is. I recently had my annual exam with a PCP that I have always had great respect for

Are bone and CT scans required quarterly if PSA and testosterone are basically zero and no symptoms?
I have stage IV prostate cancer with a spot on my lung being the only known spread of my cancer. After my chemo regimen, my CT and bone scans have been clean for a year now. And my blood work is perfect at the moment. I am on Zytiga and getting a Lupron shot quarterly. My doc still wants

Blood test results
Hi, three weeks ago I had a Fibroscan in a mobile community testing van, the result was a reading of 15.1. The nurse suggested cirrhosis of the liver and said a referral for a CT scan was appropriate. I hadn't heard anything for two weeks, as you can imagine, I was beside myself with worry, I phoned

I’m 73 and been feeling extra tired recently, otherwise fit and well. I thought the tiredness might be caused by Keppra a drug I take for epilepsy, I’m also on statins … but anyway the GP did a blood test, the Serum Alanine transaminase was ‘out of range’ at 54 u/l. I’ve always been a drinker but stick

Headaches
Hi everyone I was diagnosed with Graves in 2021 and had treatment which put the Graves in remission. I am starting to feel unwell again and getting headaches and just feeling lousy but wondered if the headaches is a symptom of Graves. I do suffer with migraines. I am having my bloods done tomorrow

Initial Phase 1 Data on MB-105 for Patients with PSCA-positive Castration Resistant Prostate Cancer
From what I understand PSCA is highly expressed in prostate cancer cells but also in other kinds of cancer and also in other tissues (in small amounts), and its production increases as the disease progresses, making it a better target for later stages (but this is my speculation!). What is important

Ketogenic diet alters the epigenetic and immune landscape of prostate cancer to overcome resistance to immune checkpoint blockade therapy.
Overall, this strikes me as too hypothetical for us to apply, but what do I know? "Overall, these findings illuminate a potential clinical path of using HDACi and optimized KD regimens to enhance ICB therapy for PCa." HDACi = histone deacetylase inhibitor [To date, four HDAC inhibitors, Vorinostat

If PSA is Suppressed by Doublet ADT, Will Salvage IMRT Cause a PSA Rise?
Hello everyone, My husband is nearing completion of his extended pelvic salvage IMRT with boost to retrocaval lymph nodes. His radiation oncologist said it may take several months before the psa calms down, so he would like to see him in July. My question is that, since he is already undetectable due
