Tongue Necrosis with GCA!!
Hello everyone, I've only had PMR and GCA for 3 and a half months but my tongue is already affected. It's turning brown and disgusting! Has anyone else had this? Does it go away? What happens with this tongue death?!! Yikes! Jill

Getting older with ss
Like heart problems (which I take meds for), a bad hip (which I had replaced), fluctuating eye sight,
necrosis
in my left shoulder which limits movement and causes pain, a few mini strokes, respiratory problems that make exercise almost impossible, and those are just the physical problems.

I presented to the primary care physician that an extraction of the tooth (due to NOT filling the cavity) that the Prolia web site stated the filling had a lesser chance of jaw

Sulforaphane, Acrolein, and Parkinson's
Acrolein can trigger immune and inflammatory responses, such as the increased expression of nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB), tumor
necrosis
factor alpha (TNF-α), interleukin 6 (IL-6), or IL-8, contributing to endoplasmic reticulum stress.

Pressure from dr to go on meds. DEXA worse every time. Severe osteoporosis on every measure. Drug side effects or risk of fractures? Arrgh!
I thought about getting Invisalign braces but not sure that’s a good idea with treatment, due to concern for jaw
necrosis

Reporting back from Dr after tongue necrosis
But she prescribed some yeast medicine and I will use it and hope that it's not
necrosis
!! She also said I need an endoscopy to make sure it's not all down my throat. Tomorrow I have 3 different scans--bone density, torso CT with contrast dye, and abdomen CT with contrast dye.

Is there a link between Avascular Necrosis and Hypothyroidism?
I saw him last week for the results and he said there was clear evidence of Avascular
Necrosis
in the femoral head which was now causing arthritis - a clearly visible 3cm lesion on the scan.

Radiation Necrosis?
My recent MRI has shown the stable one has increased in size and they are unsure if it’s due to Radiation
Necrosis
or the tumour becoming active again.

Newbie with PV and questions!
Instead, found out I had advanced avascular
necrosis
(AVN) in both femoral heads - the heads have flattened because the bone inside has died, with no history of injury to account for this. A hip replacement is on the cards once the PV is under control.

It remains enigmatic.
I remain puzzled after I was advised that the volume of
necrosis
, is small! The combination of this, and the hypertensive portal Gastropathy has me wondering, tho intermittently, how small is small? I was advised they would cut this away? What bearing does each condition have on the other?

Need Advice Pertaining to Dental Work and Tx
My question: I know one doesn't want to be on drugs for low bone density due to jaw
necrosis
issues. Not an issue for me. But I have a rising PSA. Next PSA in 3 months or so. If PSA rises, we do a Pylarify PSA scan possibly followed by HT and then SBRT.

Inability to work is frustrating me.
I cannot exercise because I need a hip replacement due to avascular
necrosis
of my left hip. Supposedly, I am waiting to get it scheduled by a Yale orthopedic surgeon. I have been walking with difficulty with a cane for far too many years now.

Liver Biopsy Update
The portal spaces trapped in these nodules show a moderate inflammatory infiltrate, predominantly lymphoplasmacytic, without portal
necrosis
. These same portal spaces present biliary canalicular structures of normal morphology, without cholangitis or sclerosing lesion or ductopenia.
