hypertension stage 2 plus enlarged heart - is this linked to underactive thyroid? Help appreciated please
I’ve been on levothyroxine since about 2005. Back up to 125 mg per day after 9 months on 100mg. Tsh was 6.9 and t4 16 when last tested in December . Although I asked for t3 to be tested no results. im waiting for an echocardiogram in March to look at my heart as its enlarged. I’m taking spirometer

what else can cause this?
Hello i’ve posted on here before with my results (see at the end of this post) and the doctor has said I’ve got hyperthyroidism, referred me to endo (10 weeks waiting list) and tested for graves as my cousin and Nan both have it however I have had the results and they have come back as negative for it

T4/T3 levels
Hi. Quick question. I've just had blood test for TSH, T3+T4 after starting T3 in December from private Endo. I read in this forum that when starting T3 your T4 will fall, as will TSH. My TSH has been suppressed for years+no change since T3 added but my T4 hasn't dropped much at all:TSH <0.02 Free T4

Hi, I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism formally in July 2020, and put on 50mg Levo initially although my TSH levels had been over 5 for the 2 years prior to 2020 with the GP saying they would just monitor 🤦🏼♀️ subsequent blood tests after starting Levo showed the TSH was up and down, but GP kept

Hypothyroid all the symptoms, med reduced...
Levothyroxine was reduced late September 23 from 100ug to 75ug due to TSH 0.03, Have gradually been feeling the effects of this I am sure. Now feeling very tired, not thinking straight - brain fog, reduced appetite (didn't know was symptom until very recently), extremely lethargic, 95% of symptoms on

subclinical hyperthyroid after hemithyroidectomy
evening all 🙂 I had a hemithyroidectomy in 2021 due to a large benign tumour on the left side of my thyroid, the right side was biopsied but left due to being non cancerous even though there is 3cm nodule on there. I didn’t get put on any medication post surgery as bloods were all ok. Lately I’ve

Worried about TSH levels :( 0.04mlU/L
I am taking a small 3mg of T3 with a private prescription and my NHS endo has said, this prescription is causing my lower TSH - but that feels like I'm being gaslight again. I'm feeling soo fatigued and stressed trying to get it sorted. I know I need to my levels on the lower side due to previous thyroid

Low tsh 0.01 and low t4 12/13 even on levothyroxine
I have had bloods done and tsh is majorly supressed and t4 is low even on levothyroxine. 12/13 t4 (range 9-19) I have tingling and leg swelling daily and I'm unsure what this may be. Any advice or similar story's would be helpful

How to persuade TSH-obsessed Endo I'm not over-replaced (on T3-only)?
Hello, I am posting because I'm hoping for some advice for an Endo meeting on Tuesday. There is a possibility that the NHS Endocrinology team at my local hospital might just be contemplating 'widening' their approach to T3 (historically for me, a violent slam in the face 'NO! Get off T3 immediately or

lower levothyroxine
I had a blood test done in October 2023 it came back with my TSH at 0.01 (range 0.27-4.2) and my T4 was 17.9 (range 12-22) so the doctor reduced my Levothyroxine from 75mcg to 50mcg one day and 75mcg the next. In January 2024 I had another blood test done, unfortunately they didnt do my T4 even though

stopping vitamins before tests
hi everyone, I can’t remember if I have to stop my vitamin b12 and D before doing my medichecks test - the one that tests for t3, t4, tsh, folate, b12, D, ferritin and inflammation. I’m taking the vitamins in spray form now so no biotin - is there any other reason I have to stop before testing? Thanks

Levothyroxine no longer effective
Hi Folks , I'm struggling. My medication is no longer working. my Levothyroxine 100mg was working - from November 2022 TSH 0.49 shot up to TSH 7.18. February 2024 safe regions 0.27-4.2. I have no clue how this can change so dramatically I need some kind of explanation. Can someone help me.

🤷🏻♀️ Sudden jump up in T4
Morning all 😉 I have Hashimoto’s and have had radio active iodine treatment over 16 years ago so have been on Levothyroxine since. I’m familiar with all the testing and get regularly tested by my GP. I also private test occasionally to check my T3 as my local area do not test that on the NHS. I

Book on hypothyroidism as I wait for Levo to kick in?
Hi all, and thanks for having me here. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in October and started on 25mg Levo per day. Last week I saw my GP for (I think) an unrelated matter. She looked at my blood results from December (TSH 2.35, down from 4.39 in October, and T4 9.2, up from 7.9 in October) and
