Advice please
Hi everyone, I’m fairly new to this group and was worried about posting but I’m feeling so lost. I am waiting on a diagnostic laparoscopy for potential endo. Pelvic pain started around a year and a half ago. I have had an internal ultrasound which only showed a small intramural fibroid but I was told

Can anyone shed some light on Anti CCP antibodies result?
Hi everyone, my name is Claire. I’ve just received back some blood test results (Rheumatoid Factor and Anti CCP antibodies). The Rheumatoid Factor came back negative but the Anti CCP came back as 10.4 K/UL. The test states that normal range is under 2.9 K/Ul yet mine is over 3 times higher. The last

Tapering - have I overshot?
As per my bio. I was diagnosed with PMR in Sept 2023 and started on 15mg of Pred. Have been tapering at 4 week intervals from 15 to 12.5, then to 10 then 9 and then 8. So far so good. However, about 5 weeks ago I strained my back quite badly. Two telephone consultations with GP. At first, he prescribed

When is the best time to take T3
Hi I collected my first prescription for T3 Liothyronine 20 mg today. All the instructions on the box tell me is to take one tablet a day. I read the instructions inside and they just say to take exactly as instructed by doctor or pharmacist. So does it matter when the tablet is taken or if it is

High Gamma GT results due to medication?
I recently had a health check via my insurance company and my Gamma GT levels came back high (105 U/L). I have a very balanced diet and excercise 3-4 times a week. I drink alcohol, but not everyday (a couple of drinks during the week and at the weekend perhaps 3-4 drinks) but I understand high levels

Hip Pain
Hi, I am 21 years old and have been suffering with Endometriosis for 10 years now (although I was diagnosed in 2021). I have been on Prostap injections and Tibolone HRT since July 2021 as previous to this I was wheelchair bound on 3 occasions due to the severity of the pain and nothing else worked. Prostap

diagnosed recently and struggling
hi everyone I came across this group and joined in hopes I can find some solace with others who may be going through the same thing, if not similar. I broke my leg in 5 places a few years ago and I’ve never had a day pain free. The pain became widespread and has become worse as time has gone on. I

I have had severe period pain for years and take naproxen 500mg every month which stops it getting severe. I then got period pain the week before my period, a couple days occasionally after my period, then occasionally it would happen randomly throughout the month and now for about 2 weeks it’s been

High Blood Pressure and Lupus
Hi, I currently have high blood pressure and I'm taking Ramipril but I'm also having a flare which is playing havoc with my joints. Everything I read says don't take ibuprofen or naproxen if you have high blood pressure and that these NSAI's reduce the effectiveness of Ramipril. Problem is that at

My story

I never really understood why doctors only seemed to give medication which would suppress the immune system. Generally I felt this approach was making me feel much worse. So for many

Medicines and dementia risk
Hello. I'm 64 years old with a painful back problem (lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylosis and spondylolisthesis). While I wait for an appointment at the Pain Clinic, I was recommended by the musculoskeletal specialist to try a drug called gabapentin. My doctor put me on another from this group of drugs

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Sorry for the long message but would appreciate knowing if this is typical or if I am being a little dramatic and unrealistic. diagnosed with RA nearly 2 years ago. Took a while but pretty much back to normal after moving to injecting 20mg MTX, 200g hydroxy and folic acid 6 days a week. Took just over

is everyone else not getting diagnosed or much treatment?
I’ve had severe period pain for years, when I wasn’t taking painkiller in time I would be sick and feel faint. I have tried paracetamol and ibuprofen in the pad which did nothing. I took naproxen 500mg which used to completely block my pain but now only stops it being severe. More recently I’ve been

The Temperature “Flip Flop.”
Hello Community Fam, I have a question for anyone experiencing the winter chill. PA is inconsistent with temperatures right now. We melted away the snow from last week; Saturday 55 degrees, this upcoming weekend chilly with temps in the morning around 27 degrees!
