I was wondering if anyone had mirena placed when you gave a birth

Is it unreasonable that I was hoping for more than just try the mirena coil, mini pill or zodalex injections. Which I then said well I want to start trying for a baby soon to then be told that’s a good thing because pregnancy quite often suppresses symptoms.

I had the mirena coil inserted and my consultant assured me that as my endo was removed (ablation) I would no longer suffer any painful symptoms. I find I’m still in quite a lot of pain with the same symptoms I had before my lap.

Any ladies out there been pregnant while on the mirena? Freaking out a bit here had some symptoms of pregnancy (mainly breast tenderness) which isn’t normal for me unless pregnant. So took a test and I could see the faintest of faint lines but it’s on 2 tests.

Hi all, I was diagnosed with endometriosis last May through a diagnostic laparoscopy, with Mirena coil inserted during the op. That has been found to not be sufficient enough alone to combat the endo that still remains and it’s started to grow back on one of my ovaries.

I am now trying the mirena coil I had it fitted 6 weeks ago and I am still bleeding. I have been bleeding non stop ( not always fresh blood) probably since Feb 2020 . I been getting on and off pain around my hips and it can be quite painful. I am definitely not pregnant and nor do I want to be.

The only thing I can think of that is different is that I got a Mirena IUD a few weeks ago. Any thoughts??

She had only bad things to say about a laparoscopy She suggested going back on the pill or being fitted with the Mirena Coil, or taking paracetamol!!! -just pain management, not about finding the cause.

I had the Mirena Coil fitted in December and it was a horrible almost traumatic experience. Me and my partner haven't had sex since then as I just can't do it, has anyone experienced the same kind of thing?

Hello, i have recently found out i have endometriosis and my doctor as suggested getting the mirena IUD inserted. Im just wondering if anyone else has had this and what they think of it?

Hi ladies my daughter had a mirena fitted a month ago and is having sharp pains at the top of her left leg. Has anyone else had this? Thanks

I’ve just had a mirena cool fitted to manage painful and heavy periods . What are your experiences? So far I’ve had light bleeding with some cramps but that’s it but I’m anxious about side effects but so far I’m ok !

I had a mirena coil fitted to help prevent it growing back. I am now married and we are trying for a baby! Coil was removed in June 2020 and we have been trying ever since. We are both young and healthy so everywhere says you should be able to get pregnant in the first 12 months.

Also has suggested that may start cyclical norethisterone to reduce endometrial thickness-I thought only Mirena coil had been proven to help with this... I’m so desperate for my husband and I to have a family but every test result I’m given just pushes this dream further out of reach.

Ive been referred to the gynaecologist but my GP wants to put me back onto hormonal birth control (currently on copper coil) but I have a terrible history with the pill and Mirena (depression, anxiety, low libido leading to breakdown of long term relationship).

I am supposed to be having the mirena coil inserted during surgery, but I have heard that fertility is best straight after surgery so am thinking that maybe we should start trying then? I may well be 30 by that time.

I’ve been diagnosed with endo and had my excision surgery over a year ago now, but due to the COVID outbreak, have not been for my post-op consultation where I was supposed to have the Mirena Coil fitted under anaesthetic.

Has anyone experienced pain/cramping after sex with Mirena IUD? I had it fitted in Oct ‘20 and bled (with extreme cramping) up until 24th Dec! Still having odd spotting most days, but after sex I am in agony in my lower abdomen. It’s not achey period-like cramps, but stabbing pains.

I had the mirena coil fitted during too. Whilst i have symptoms of a cycle... bloating, cramps, water retention, spotting etc.. i havent had an actual period bleed? My periods were very irregular before surgery? Does anyone have any similar experiences?
