Leg pain with mirena

Hi ladies my daughter had a mirena fitted a month ago and is having sharp pains at the top of her left leg. Has anyone else had this? Thanks

I had pain in the top of my right leg due to the coil, although as I'm still get hip, leg pains I'm not sure if it was solely the coil, but it could be worth getting it's positioning checked. My sister had issues with her last one and it turned out not to be in the right place.

Thanks for replying. The pain isn't constant but at least daily and only since mirena, so probably related. We can't get near the gp's at the moment not even for 6 week check as it isn't urgent, hence posting on here. Looks like we wait it out and see if it goes, thanks anyway.

I hope she doesn't have too wait too long but if it gets worse, I would recommend calling your GP.

This is very interesting, I’ve had the mirena (not my choice) and have had pain ever since radiating down from pelvis to my legs on a daily basis for 2.5 years (especially on left)Consultant has never mentioned it could be this causing it but it would make sense that it is.

Yes strange isn't it? I know with endo of US ligament it can cause referred leg pain, but strange it only started with coil. Thanks for your wishes x
