Advice following endo diagnosis?

Hi I'm new here! I was diagnosed with PCOS several years ago following 10 years of going to the GP with symptoms so I knew when I developed severe pain during and around my period I needed to get help. Its been getting progressively worse for a year where I now can't get out of bed during my period and finally a doctor took my concerns seriously and reckons I have endo as well as PCOS. Ive been referred to the gynaecologist but my GP wants to put me back onto hormonal birth control (currently on copper coil) but I have a terrible history with the pill and Mirena (depression, anxiety, low libido leading to breakdown of long term relationship). Do the benefits of this treatment method outweigh the side effects? I really appreciate any advice anyone can offer both regarding treatment options or living with both endo and PCOS xx

Hi M_ir97.Your choice would depend on how bad your pain is and also if you want to start a family.Personally birth control didn't sit well with me as i wanted children so settled for pain management. At a period my pain was extreme so had to take decapatyl injections monthly to stop my period.Perhaps wait to discuss this when your referral goes through and in the meantime manage with strong painkillers.
