Alternative Therapies?
I am on
Minocycline
, but I also discovered a month or so ago that Tourmaline bracelets (one on each hand) help me to sleep better and mostly all night. They also seem to help with the Restless Leg issues.

New to Methotrexate injections
Since then I have only been on
Minocycline
and was doing fine. Until recently. Suddenly the joints in my hands have become inflamed and painful. Upon returning to my rheumatologist, he stated that
Minocycline
works well for some people for awhile but when it stops working, it stops working.

Followup on untraditional RA protocol
Now I have recently added
Minocycline
to ensure that the cause of my RA is not a mycoplasma infection ( had an untreated mycoplasma lung infection just before the onset of my RA).

CRP/SED High-antibiotics
One option is to add an antibiotic- she is thinking
minocycline
. Anyone else been on this or other antibiotics to try to reduce the inflammation? Any thoughts on whether you would want to increase pred in this situation? My SED was 0 at time of diagnosis-only went up in Oct.

Minocycline for RA
Minocycline
looks the most promising as it has few side effects and the research and use in America has been amazing. As I live in the UK has anyone had this treatment prescribed on the NHS and has it worked? Thank you

Waiting on diagnose ..
They are waiting for my histone results as I have been taking
minocycline
for my rosacea for years which has been reported to induce lupus. Ugh.. I'm frustrated and nervous as to what is going on . My dermatologist is considering lupus or urticaria vasculitis .

Hi, just another newbie
Now I am (still) on
Minocycline
/Methylpred. I still have flares, stiffness and pain, but no more morning crying, and I understand that this therapy takes time to work. I feel better knowing that the
Minocycline
isn't toxic and I'm hoping that it will one day work the way I understand it to.

Side effects from MTX, sulfa, humira - skin problems?
I've been on MTX, sulfa, humira, and
minocycline
(for the past month just humira), and developed tiny little bumps/blind pimples all over my face/neck/chest - they were mostly around the sides of my face and I couldn't help rubbing/scratching them obsessively.

Did anyone who now has PSP ever use codeine/other opiates long term for pain/other reason years prior to onset? (ie T3,C2,cough syrup,or?)
The future Dr Noble et al have used
minocycline
(an antibiotic) in mice with abnormal tau protein related Alzheimer`s disease. The
minocycline
was noted to reduce inflammatory markers which are elevated in Alzheimer`s disease.

Anyone had a 6 week course of Minocycline 50mg bd for calcinosis ?
Being a self confessed antibiotic junkie, through no choice of mine, I have not had
minocycline
before so I would be really grateful for anybody else's experience of it. Thanks - Living the dream :)

Antibiotic Therapy
Has anyone ever had their inflammatory arthritis (of any type) treated with antibiotics, especially
minocycline
? I take my DMARDs & my NSAIDs etc. and if it comes to it I'd take Biologics & think myself lucky to have them.
