A message to you all from Dave - Manofmendip
I Just had a chat with Dave, at some point he will hopefully come back as an Administrator that door is left wide open for him, he asked me to tell you this: 'Please tell them that I took time out when Liza, my partner was in hospital for six months being treated for Leukaemia. She is now in remission

Pain, scared of angina or other heart problems
Hi, I have started going to a gym to train and get my stamina since i was feeling that when climbing up the stairs fast my heart was racing a lot. The thing is that today after some training i started to have jaw pain and yesterday felt some hand pain as well. I'm scared that all of this may be angina

Hi my lupie friends Does anyone suffer with intermittent chest pain? I have been last couple of weeks. The first time was quite painful when I went swimming. Then I rested for 5 mins and it went until I did next length then started again. Only just starting going swimming recently .I'm not a great swimmer

Pulmonary Rehab and other bits and bobs
Had my assessment letter this morning for the rehab, has left me feeling both happy and worried. Why worried you may ask, well I ended up in hospital 2 nights ago with severe chest pains, ended up seeing the consultant in the morning and I have to have tests for angina, I opted for the non invasive but

An apparently safe, effective treatment for many with angina (including microvascular angina) and heart failure - external counterpulsation
After 10 years of intermittent illness, I recently diagnosed myself as possibly having
microvascular
angina
(MVA) and, since my local cardiologist seems not to believe in it, I did some research and found a Dr Robin Roberts (http://alexander-house.co.uk/index.php) who specialises in the disorder and

Angina
Hi I have been experiencing chest pain on & off for the last few years. It comes on suddenly, severe chest pain but only lasts for about 5 to 10 mins. I have a few days experiencing episodes of this & then it disappears again. I had an episode on Friday so thought I had best get it checked out. I ended

Update to cardiologist visit.
Good morning dear friends. Have been awake for a couple of hours mulling things over and over in my mind. I am sure you can all relate to this. Had an earlier appointment with my cardiologist yesterday, echocardiogram. Another ECG . Upshot of it is, he wants to do more investigations. Was given the option

Has anybody had enhanced external counterpulsation for their unstable
angina
? I have
microvascular
angina
which is refractory in nature. I really feel that I may benefit from this but I'm struggling to get any info.

Isosorbide mononitrate
Hi I suffer from PAF and was prescribed isosorbide mononitrate for angina in January which came on during an attack . I also take 2.5 mg bisoprolol morning and night which I have been taking for 4 years. I think the isosorbide is causing an increase I ectopic beats, tiredness and fluid retention. I

Microvascular angina
In 2012, at the age of 36 I was diagnosed with
microvascular
angina
. It took a long time to get the diagnosis because a few months earlier I had an unexplained DVT which was subsequently attributed to Factor V Leiden.
