Pulmonary Rehab and other bits and bobs

Had my assessment letter this morning for the rehab, has left me feeling both happy and worried.

Why worried you may ask, well I ended up in hospital 2 nights ago with severe chest pains, ended up seeing the consultant in the morning and I have to have tests for angina, I opted for the non invasive but am aware they may have to do both if that turns up even the slightest issue, which brings me to why I am worried.

I saw my respiratory nurse today and she said to still go to the assessment but if I havnt had the tests by then they will probably not let me do it until afterwards.

I have been looking forward to the rehab as it will get me out and talking to people, which, even as a kind of loner, do miss a bit.

So i have had 2 outings this week, both to hospitals lol but the nurses and doctors where all lovely, especially my respiratory nurse, really puts me at ease.

If it turns out its not angina i really am going to have to start at the drawing board to find out what these bloomin pains are but guess i will cross that bridge when i come to it.

Have another day out tomorrow, thats to my GP so i can get my fitnote for work, thats going to be 1st thing in the morning as i always feel at my best then and can manage the walk to the train station. Will probably be taxi home though or possibly to the supermarket for some weekend goodies.

So 3 days out of the house in a row is a massive record for me but it really does feel good, i wish i could have appointments everyday to help my motivation haha

Thanks for getting to the end, hope everyone is feeling as fit as they can, take care, until next time, over and out.

Hi Keith, sorry about the pain and I hope it turns out not to be angina. Often acid reflux can cause dreadful chest pain which feels like a heart problem. Let us know how the tests go. Take care :)

Above everything else you have going on ,I can hear the happiness when you say you've been out of your house 3 days this week. That in itself is such a positive state of mind and must have been such a boost. Ok they were medical appointments, but nonetheless, they got you up and out and built up your confidence. Congratulations keith9876 .

Hi I did get to the end of the epistle. The rehab is a good plce to go, if you tell the nurses that you have a problem they will work around it with you. there really isn't anything to be afraid of the nurses on rehab are usually great and cater to your needs, they will reduce or opt out if any of the exercises prove too much.

Good luck with it you'll enjoy it.

Thanks everyone, not had chance to check back on this post, been tucked up in bed trying to rest, really run down at the moment, mainly at night but not being able to sleep tires me out even quicker during the day.

Got my youtube on the go playing constant relaxation music quietly in the background, really does help me.

Hello Keith. 👋

I salute you. Getting out for three days a week would be a challenge. But now I also feel more motivated to get out more. I'm so sorry about your pains. My mum has similar pains and refuses to see a doctor as she as in her words says "I can manage" . 😐 Very stubborn. 😑

I hope all your tests to okay and you got lots of lovely treats for the weekend.

Take good care.

Cas xx 🌿🌻🌿
