Why I stopped metoprolol
Quick summary: I’ve had one ablation, for A-fib, August 2022. All was well A-flutter began in August 2023. I’ve had five cardioversions since then, lasting from three weeks to three days. I am now in A-flutter awaiting an ablation on February 6. Success rate statistically is around 95%. Fingers crossed

Atrial Trigeminy, PVCs and everything imbetween
I am now actually quite scared as for the past 24 hours I am showing I am having runs of Atrial Trigmeminy, not all the time I don't know if the anxiety is making it worse. I feel like light headed with worry but I don't know if it is the metoprolol as I upped the dose yesterday, but for the past 4

I don't know what to do!!
Here is my situation. I have Atrial Tachycardia/SVT. I had a 14 day Holter that showed a 20% average burden of Supra ventricular Ectopy. I had an 11% burden of SVT. I had, on average, 20-30,000 ectopic beats every day, and 6-700 runs of SVT per day. Most of my episodes occur at night. From 10pm

Has anyone taken beta blockers for more than 10 years with no side effects?
Hi all, at my last consult with cardiologist he suggested staying on low dose metoprolol for another year and possibly permanently as for me it might help suppress the adrenaline spike that can bring on my AF. I’m on about 10mg twice daily of metoprolol tartrate. The equivalent in Bisoprolol is 1mg.

AFIB AFTER EATING
I was diagnosed with Afib 2 yrs ago. I was given metoprolol, Pradaxa and told to lose weight.I get Afib episodes 7-8 times per month lasting 4 sec to the longest very recently was 8 minutes. In the past 2 months I have been getting palpitaions after eating, which triggers the Afib. Anybody else has

Yet more possible problems with AF which may include meds
Hello all. Please, looking for yet more possible info here on my newely diagnosed AF. When I was in the hospital in early past November they were taking the usual blood tests especially since prescribing xarelto for me, along with my furosemide and metoprolol. Now since I'm home I had 2 more ordered

Xmas Day - Day 10
Not quite what I’d expected - 2 days ago started to get some recurrence and yesterday at about 4pm Kardia advised Tachycardia and 160bpm - this continued and whilst I’ve never had an episode of Arrythmia that failed to terminate in its own, it stayed consistent all through the night and this morning

Two questions for those dealing with Afib:
My first questions concern post Afib behavior: How have you been advised about post Afib activities? Should we be concerned that our heart is still in a vulnerable state or weakened by the Afib event and needs time to recover? Do you fully return to normal activity immediately upon returning to NSR

Third Attempt.and Fail
Well, Made a trip four hours away to another EP to attempt another ablation for Atrial Tachycardia. Yet again, now a second time, this ridiculously elusive rhythm evaded them and they could not do the ablation . Not sure what options that I have left to me now. Probably will have to take Metoprolol,

Hello again. Questions with AF medications
Hi. Need to ask this question on current medications. Furosemide (water pill) 40 mg. once per day. Metoprolol (heart pill) 75 mg. twice a day. And Xarelto (blood thinner) 20 mg. once per day. Has anyone experienced any type of anxiety while on these types of AF medications? I occasionally suffer

Blood Pressure Disaster - Part Deux
The saga continues. So finally my Primary Care doctor is back from vacation and I snag an appointment. My blood pressure since the change in medication has been high and my nephrologist just keeps upping the doses. I was at 150 mg of Metoprolol (is that a record?), 320 mg of Valsartan and 20 mg of

Hello
Hi. So glad for this site. Newly diagnosed with a-fib, along with heart failure (diastolic). Walked into the emergency room here at local hospital Nov. 5th., thinking that I had a possible DVT because of on-going left leg swelling, after blood test and x-rays told I had a-fib which was the reason for

Woke up in Afib
I thought the cardio version last episode would have been the end to this. But nope , like clockwork I was due. I have been journaling and keep track of how I feel. I usually see a dip in HR a few days to a week before ba episode. I seem to have them every 6/8 weeks with one exception in last year of

Covid vax and AFIB
just as an FYI, I had a Covid vaccination (Pfizer) a couple of days ago and I developed AFIB within a few hours. It did resolve itself overnight after I took extra metoprolol.

Blood Pressure Disaster
I posted this in the Kidney forum but wanted to get the Heart folks opinions too. I have been taking blood pressure medication for many years and after lots of experimentation by doctors I believed it was finally under control. I went to my nephrologist a month ago and the reading was 118/76. I

This year after my surgery l was dragging myself around tired first blaming the high dose metoprolol and that got reduced somewhat but it turned out l was iron deficient. I had 3months of iron pills and it improved slightly. Then l stopped taking them because they gave me diarrhoea and it dropped again

was on clopidogrel for 7 years following stent with metoprolol for irregular heartbeat AF. I had no side effects at all. Had a angiogram back in March to check stent etc., Last month suddenly without talking to me, no information was exchanged and meds were changed to Apixaban, bisoprolol and Famotidine

Metoprolol as rate reducer with no affect on rhythm....
So after my last Holter showed 8500 episodes of SVT (Atrial Tachycardia) in 14 days, with a 19% burden of Atrial Ectopy and 11% burden of tachycardia, my EP recommended an echo (which was normal, thankfully), starting Metoprolol, and Eliquis, while I wait for another ablation. I have tried, and failed
