Depo Medrone 120mg IM and Mood
Hi All I had an injection of Depo Medrone almost 4 weeks ago and initially felt great but this week I’ve noticed my mood it all over the place! I’m anxious, sad, tearful, panicy, obsessive about little things. I haven’t felt this way prior to the treatment and I haven’t had any significant changes in

IM steroid injection - when will it start working?
I recently got the IM depo medrone steroid injection into my left thigh to help with inflammation and pain for my possible RA. I would love to hear other people's experiences of it and the effects. It's been six days since I've had the injection, I've definitely noticed less stiffness and a bit less

Introduction - Brain Abscess
Hi, Just joined the community after my wife found it useful while I was going through treatment for a brain abscess. I have had a nose about and thought I would share a fairly succinct (spoiler, it was meant to be but hasn’t transpired that way) version of my story; in case it offers any assistance to

Methotrexate, steroids, COVID-19
Hi all, I'm UCTD, and for about five years, I've been a full dose (2 x daily) of hydroxychloroquine. I've been having a flair more or less since lock-down started. Normally when this happens, I get a Depo-Medrone injection (methylprednisolonen), which settles me down anywhere from a few months to a couple

Anyone having injections of Depo-Medrone instead of taking prednisolone orally to manage symptoms of PMR?
Anyone having injections of depo-Medrone instead of taking prednisolone by mouth for PMR symptoms? If so, do you prefer this method? How does it work?

Bruising
I have found 3 bruises ( 2 large) have appeared in the last 3 days without any recollection of any accident. I am on Hydroxychloroquine and Benepali. I did have an issue with easy bruising ( and very slow healing) which started when I had a depo medrone jab. It continued for the 6 months I was on Methotrexate

Has anyone out there developed eczema out of the blue while dealing with PMR?
My second depo-medrone injection was Wednesday. Thursday morning I woke with a very itchy back, so bad I went straight to my GP. GP looked and said I had eczema. I have never had any skin conditions in all my long life. One more unbearable burden to deal with in an unbearable situation. Quite depressed

Steroid injection didn’t work :(
Hi I put a post on the other day about comments on Tocilizimubab as I hope to start in the next few weeks .. in the meantime Friday I had a steroid injection as I’m in so much pain but I’ve had no relief . It was a depo medrone in the bottom , has anyone else had a failed steroid injection or is it

Depo-Medrone injections
Does anyone have advice on the best way to taper down Depo-Medrone injections. Since last February I have been on 120mg starting on once a month, then every 5 weeks, this time it is 6 weeks and I am longing for it. Should I be cutting back quantity rather than time between injections. I go to my GP

Frustrated? Misunderstood? Guilty? Bacterial Meningitis and Sepsis

IM depo medrone
Hooray, I’ve finally had my depo medrone injection today! The Rheumatologist is 50/50 as to whether it will help as I don’t have an official diagnosis....this is almost like a test to see if it helps. But I’m trying to remain optimistic! I just wondered how long it normally takes to notice relief? My

How strong is a Depo Medrone injection does anybody know?
In March I had my first long-lasting Depo Medrone steroid injection (standard dose 40mg per mil x 3 = 120). It worked very well and wore off after about 3 months. Rheumatologist said it was the equivalent of about 4 mg Pred per day and would last 6 months. I just had another injection two weeks ago

Complicated kidney infection. Unexplained fever.
My father was misdiagnosed with a smaller kidney stone than it actually was. Before they found out the real size in CT scan, the doctors began the flush therapy and it apparently started to damage his kidney walls so they inserted a DJ stent. After keeping the stent for two weeks, they conducted RIRS

M-Day! 😬
I gave myself a ‘sharp scratch’ with the pointy end of the Metoject Pen this morning, overseen by a gleeful husband waiting for the blood curdling scream 😱. What an anti-climax! I didn’t feel a thing & frantically looked around to find out where the orange liquid had gone! If anyone is new to the injections

Hi 🙂
Does anyone take a Vitamin D supplement with injectable Methotrexate? I have all my Metoject pens, folic acid & all the kit. I have a blood test request for whoever will do it & an appointment with my GP on 17 May to talk to him about what the surgery can do to help (notice! very politely put 🙄). Tomorrow

Yet another pseudomonas infection
Hi, I am back asking for more advice after my husband was readmitted to hospital with another infection, just three weeks after being discharged following 32 days incarceration which, at one point was life threatening. This earlier infection was eventually cleared "completely" (I know pseudomonas lurks

New wheel chair
I sent a message to my sister to tell her I had got a wheelchair & sent her this picture. Can you believe it? She asked me if I’d had my hair done. 😱😱 I’m at the hospital on Tuesday for a Depo-Medrone jab (an appointment I had to beg for after my 8th January appointment was cancelled). Perhaps I

Weight loss
I am taking 200mg Hydroxychloroquine daily, 20mg Methotrexate weekly, 5mg Folic Acid daily except MTX day. Does anyone have an answer as to why I am losing weight without reducing my calorie intake. I am currently experiencing a flare up and have had a 120mg Depo-Medrone injection. Do any of you have
